My biggest challenge as a photographer is often building something out of nothing. I have a scene -- often a studio or location -- but only a model, a camera, my model, and some film. And in this case, a light: The Weeylite NInja 200, supplied to me by them with no strings attached for a review. This review is not happening in one part, but this is one part of it: The real experience of film photography and building a scene while using this bi-color LED light.
I use a Hasselblad 503CW with Kodak Gold 200, Ilford Delta 3200, and Ilford XP2 Super 400 black and white color negative medium format film. (And yes, I used the wrong name in the video ... props if you read this!)

Awesome, thank you so much! I was hoping people might find something interesting or useful in seeing the process.

Appreciate the insight as always into both your process and also the interplay between photographer and subject. Model's progression here from anxious/apologetic to really buying into what you were making together was so cool to watch.

Thank you! I was excited to see that I actually captured some of the way a good shoot can progress, especially since it can be really tough without a firm idea of exactly what was going on beforehand.

I really like the black & whites-the model has great hair. Nice moment when she moves the cat over the sofa a bit and the cat simply carries on as if nothing had happened.

My favorites of this episode are 4 - 6 -7 - 8 - 11 -14 - 15 - 19 - 22- 24 -26 & 27. And my top five is 8 - 7 - 27 - 26 & 19. I really like the continuous light approach, with the flash it is difficult for me to judge how to position the light, it is easier for me and for the models, but I'm still learning. Your work is amazing, and your videos make me very happy. Happy New Year.

Thank you!! I really appreciate it. I think continuous light is awesome for learning artificial lighting. In the studio you can use modeling lights and get a pretty good idea of lighting direction, but that's a lot rarer in the field. It's also a lot harder to see the final effect with flash, too. Repetition will make it a lot easier to understand how it will look, but continuous light is always a nice break and opportunity to really dial things in when it's bright enough to photograph at reasonable speeds. And Happy New Year!

Great results, and what a lovely model… I think all my photoshoot turns like that, I often have a plan but never end with the result I was looking for at start 😂

Thank you! Also, yeah, I often consider it a marvel if the concept winds up similar to my Plan A. Haha.
