@uhpenyen4291
@uhpenyen4291 6 жыл бұрын
I don't fully understand what you are trying to say. Which is ok. Just let me know if I am wrong. I believe you are asking why is AL being dropped from an adjective from the noun. According to the book, on page 3 "Subject and Predicate". The sentence, "The computer is new." / "Al-Haasuubu jadeedun." The first word (The computer/ Al-Haasuubu) is defined by 'al' and therefore ends in a single damma, but the second word (new / jadeedun) is not defined and there for ends in tanween damma. 'It doesn't contain al in-front of jadeedun because the tansween damma tells us that this word is the predicate [a/is/are] of the sentence. It completes the sentence. If NEW / jadeedun contained AL in front of "jadeedun" it becomes al-jadeedu". This adjective (because of al) is describing the noun forming, "The new computer" instead of "The computer is new". From this video, I believe this will help you out. :D kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJC0nGutfJZkr68 Once again, let me know if I am answering your question incorrectly.

Is it alright to say الحاسوب الخفيف الجديد سريع instead of الحاسوب الجديد الخفيف سريع ?
@cafeespresso99
@cafeespresso99 4 жыл бұрын
Yes. In English, that is like saying "The new light computer is fast" instead of "The light new computer is fast". You are just re-ordering the adjectives in order of what you want to emphasise.
@norules7805
@norules7805 4 жыл бұрын
@@cafeespresso99 Oh so there is no order of adjectives in arabic like english does?
@cafeespresso99
@cafeespresso99 4 жыл бұрын
Cindy Chan The purpose of Imran’s example was to illustrate how you IDENTIFY the subject (the computer which is light and new, using ال with noun and adjectives), and then INFORM the reader that it is fast (adjective without ال). So in this context, identifying the computer as new and light is grammatically as correct as identifying it as light and new. However I can see the case which you may have in mind: you have 2 NEW computers, one of them light and the other one heavy, and you want to say that the light one is fast (perhaps to imply that the heavy one isn’t) then in this use case the order would be important, in English and Arabic.
