i agree, they should at least experiment here and there to see if it’ll work or not. it kinda makes sense to move murray to SG so he can play more off ball, so he doesn’t have to worry about play making and focus on getting to his spots as for Russ, i would say that malone should give some of the playmaking duties over to him so jokic doesn’t have to almost always be the initiator

As happy as I am with him on my Nuggets, I will say he does still make a lot of wild passes that don’t come particularly close to working. Just last night against the Spurs he had like four passes out of bounds or straight into defenders. I think some of that is to be expected with a passer of his caliber, but I would hope he would reign that in a little bit if he’s given more primarily ball handling responsibilities. That said when he has run point with Murray off ball, it’s generally worked well this season.

Ahh yes because turnovers, stupid shots and reckless gambling on defense are so conducive to winning basketball The results are the results. Toughness, work ethic and leadership are great but it doesn't mean anything if the team is better with you on the bench. Although the Lakers era is an outlier and colors the back half of his career too much. Combination of terrible fit and him coming to terms with a different stage of his career.

It will be interesting to see what Malone decides to do when Gordon returns. They can't ignore their record and chemistry when Russ starts but it's hard to decide who would go to the bench. Coming into the season you'd think Braun may continue to come off of the bench but he's been everything you could have asked for and has great chemistry with Russ as well with all of his run outs. I hope to see Russ continue to start and get 30+ minutes each night when the team is fully healthy. At the very least, the Nuggets seem to have learned to pair Russ minutes with Joker. Nonetheless, the Nuggets are one of the best watches in the NBA.

As a Russ fan I’m so glad that Russ went to the Nuggets it is a perfect fit for Russ Jokic could anything on the offensive side and Coach Malone really trust Russ and let Russ do what he good at since Day one The whole team they love Russ so much, Jokic is the man that required Russ join the team. Russ is the role model of Watson. And DJ is the old friend of Russ. So Russ easily gets into the team. Imagine if Russ went to the Nuggets and never go to the Lakers it will be amazing

The Nuggets obviously learned from that but again there are only a few types of shots you can really use Russ for, which tend to increase in difficulty for the playoffs, specifically when a team tailor its defense against that.

(And -2 when neither is playing) Nothing the last 3 years suggests Westbrook is capable of doing that kind of floor raising anymore The hope is you can play Russ, Braun, Jokic, MPJ and Strawther/Watson and still be like 70-80% of the starters then tread water with Murray & AG led bench units But I’m not sure Russ is playable in the playoffs without Jokic. He’s not playable in the regular season without Jokic so far. You just hope he can buy Murray 10 minutes of rest
