WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca plays host to the 4th round of IMSA's WeatherTech Championship season. This event will surely be exciting! This is my race preview, breaking down all details ahead of this Northern Californian sportscar race. This is the upcoming Motul Course de Monterey Powered by Hyundai N 2024 race preview!

Jonah - this has become my favorite channel - great job! Hey, any reason (that you might know of) why Romain Dumas is not on the entry list for Le Mans 2024??? He has raced without missing one for 23 years. I tried reaching out to him directly but no response. Why would one of the most seasoned and skilled drivers not be on a team? Thanks!

First off, thank you for your support, it means a lot! I’m happy to hear this is your favorite channel! Romain Dumas is an incredible driver, and it’s a shame he’s not on the entry list. If Dumas wanted to race at Le Mans this year, my guess is that he could be a driver in the second Porsche 963 from Proton Competition badged as the #79 car. This entry is only on the reserve list though so it likely won’t be at Le Mans, but it makes sense for him to be one of Proton Porsche drivers for the potential #79 car, as he has experience running the car at Daytona.

A bit off topic, but, speaking of Hyundai, I saw a commercial SUV with a sign on it yesterday saying something like Hyundai Technology. It definitely said Hyundai in big letters. But the vehicle wasn't a Santa Fe, Tuscon or even ix35! No. It was a Mazda!

That's a good question about Romain Dumas. He won at Le Mans in 2010 with Audi and 2016 with Porsche. Some of his contemporaries like Andre Lotterer and Mike Rockenfeller are still racing. Has he retired?

Thankfully from my understanding the most recent situation has been resolved and racing will continue at Laguna Seca! I also think it’s a shame that there has been complaints considering this is my home track one that I have going for so many years, and how iconic the track and venues are. So I’m thankful nothing major has happened yet!
