Well at last someone who explained how to do this in a simple way, I've spent all week looking at other videos on KZbin and they all get bogged down in science and getting nowhere fast. I have the latest version installed now and at least I now know how to do it next time around. 73 and thank you.

Thank you very much for the files and the link to your Google Drive! My NanoVNA does not specifically say it's the -H model. So, I loaded the non -H file. I got a display, but no trace and the thumbwheel was unresponsive. I thought I had bricked it. I went ahead and loaded the -H and it came back to life. Yay! I like having the battery icon. I read there is a diode to install to make it functional. More Google searching! :) Thanks again for the files!

ok many thanks. I upgrade with last version hegen 79 specificy for my nanovna version( H to 2,8 inch) to 0.4.5.4 from 18 january 2020. Have you a software to use a nanov vna with pc?

@@maxastuto I do not use the VNA with software or a PC. I only use the display on the VNA itself.

The board is running an embedded Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) called ChibiOS. It's open source (see www.chibios.org/ for more info) and targets a number of different embedded microcontrollers, including the ST Micro ARM Cortex chips. The CLI you see is based on a stubbed UI that ChibiOS provides and the "info" command is telling you more about the build environment for ChibiOS rather than the application that's linked with it. So maybe you can only really rely on the build time in there as a version identifier, as the rest has more to do with how the RTOS was configured when it was built.

Those of you all reading this circa May 2022, recommend you join the NanoVNA group. The whole process has changed and become more streamlined with a new app that is a combination tool to process the measurements and data as well as enter the consoles commands. Links to the latest DFU firmware files as well as tutorials and NanoVNA documentation can be found in the files section and there is a wiki as well.

HI, is there a special cable to be used? Still trying cables and havent had luck yet with DfuSe finding the device. Hopefully I can come delete this question. lol. thx

Got it, no special cable needed. Using a standard charge cable. However, had to load the drivers via the .pdf in the download. Be aware this is not covered in the video, it wont just work if you plug it in.

I'm using the nano vna H. I used this link to get a very recent 2022 version. Just powered on, looks different. Have yet to play with it. Thanks for the video!

Choose update driver in Device manager, navigate to STMicroelectronics folder, not any subfolders. Mine loaded right up and viola, it was found. I also was able to enter upgrade mode via the config menu, no shorting anything.

any ideas on how to do this in 2024? I have a nanoVNA-H v1.0.45 and the DFU software has been impossible for me to download anywhere. I suppose it's deprecated? what to use in 2024? help

@@IMSAIGuy thanks for the reply, that is what I've been following. the problem is with STSW- those download links won't work! it makes you register then sends me a link that won't work lol I've been going in circles all morning. is there a mirror or a user that has held onto this software?
