Incredible what value for money you can get in transceivers these days. This looks like an excellent radio for the money.

The manufacturer leaving the set screw loose makes sense. Since it's not a very common thing and it is obscured by a band, one can only imagine how many people would tear up the antenna and/or the radio trying to remove the antenna not realizing it was set-screwed down. If I were the manufacturer I would have made the same call. I'm glad to see these Chinese companies thinking ahead more and more.

These radios are solid and one of the best built GMRS HT. But also did you know you can unlock these radio to TX on 2m/70cm band. The CPS is very similar to those when you write the codeplugs for DMR radios. It has zones and you can assign each channels to certain zones. Also you got the later version radio where they install the set screw. The 2x I have here don't have any set screws and the antenna comes off just like any HT's

Nice water test - it certainly has good ingress protection, possibly stands up to the IP67 rating :)

South east winds at 15 knots ..., a rather objective weather report after being held under water for half an hour. The radio seems not to be biased by individual experience.

What about a Receiver Sensitivity test {SINAD) The best water resistant, Humongous Memory HT, Transmitter is no better than a poor receiver. Maybe a follow up Test?

It appears there is an issue with programming the radio with Windows 11mentioned in the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6u8oaGtqMp9i7s. I cannot confirm and just a FYI.
