I just got my radio and have read the manual and viewed many videos but I don’t know if I am transmitting. When I key the PTT button it comes up to prompt and transmit. Prompt is highlighted. Is that normal. Hate to keep bugging you.

When you say "Prompt is highlighted", what does that mean? When you press PTT, it should say something like "A BAND TX"

how do you swap between the upper and lower bands

Pres the asterisk button at the top right. It's the one labeled SCAN for long press.

@@tuckmeat thanks! So I got everything programmed but… here in Phoenix the repeaters are all about 5-10 miles away. I’m having issues with this radio hitting any of them. Then i simply turn on my other raidos, Tid, wiuxun and Quansheng, and im hitting the repeaters loud and clear, while the HA1G is has a lot of static and then very quiet. I emailed Retavis, maybe I have a lemon. I really wanna like this radio. But ugh it’s not working well

What does the emergency scan this do?

You set up a frequency as "emergency" for you and your other users and the button makes it go straight to that frequency

Could you please tell me where you got the call sign letters you have on the back of your radio.

It looks like a gd77 you probably can put opengd77 on it and gain full dmr ham radio functionality out of it.

I can't get the radio to TX to my Motorola talk about t5000's... I can't receive the motos on my Ailunce.. but I can't talk to my motos from my Ailunce .. ive played with all the "privacy tones" and everything... No luck... Any ideas???

It's going to be either a DCS or CTCSS (privacy codes) on one or both radios that is causing this. First try turning all of that off on both radios and you should be able to communicate. Remember, many of the less expensive "bubble pack" radios use their own nomenclature or numbering convention for the CTCSS or DCS codes, and that may be the situation for your Motorola. The radio manual will usually tell you how to translate their numbering system to the actual tone/code. The Ailunce uses that actual tone/codes.
