Wait if Elizabeth were to die and have no kids then why did the grey and the Suffolk not take the English throne because Henry viii said so so why didn’t they

probably because of their family's part in the Devyse plot - plus James I had a clearer link to the throne as he was Henry 7th's great-great-grandson or something

@@lissyyoung1974 oh imagine if the lady jane grey was never executed and she was liked by the British Protestant and parliament and if she was still Alive in 1603 and had sons and she was in good shape then could she be queen in 1603 since Henry the 8th did exclude his older sister Margret kids and put his little sisters Mary daughters instead and if she was queen in 1603 how would she have ruled England

The Duchess of Suffolk had 3 kids. Jane Grey, Katherine Grey and Mary Grey. Jane Grey was executed in 1554 before Elizabeth came to the throne. In 1558, when Elizabeth became Queen, Katherine Grey was seen as the next Queen. Due to how strong claim to the throne, Katherine was also seen as a threat and had to ask permission to get married. Katherine fell in love with Edward Seymour who was the son of the Lord Protector during 1547-1551. Because Edward Seymour’s family became disliked, Katherine secretly married Edward without the permission of the Queen. They had children and were later imprisoned and separated. Because their marriage had no witnesses, their marriage was seen as illegitimate and so their children could not inherit the throne. Mary Grey, the sister of Katherine also secretly married and as result they were separated and never had children. This ended the Greys

@@Yasin_2312 oh that is sad I feel sorry for Lady Jane Grey she and Gilford would have been happy and if Lady Jane Grey was never killed she could have had children and if she had children then they could have been king or queen of England in 1603 since Jane did have permission from Edward to marry Gilford or if Lady Jane Grey strongly looked after her health and made sure she did not die and made sure she was health then she herself could have ruled England in 1603 right? I have a question what if Lady Jane Grey was queen in 1603 how would England have been like under her rule and during Elizabeth reign do you think Elizabeth would have punished Lady Jane Grey for no reason and do you think Elizabeth would have found Jane a threat if Jane was alive in 1603 in my opinion I think she would have to go through a lot of pain her two sisters death both Kathrine and Mary grey and then she would have to go through a lot of events like Mary queen of Scots execution and the Spanish Armada and for her to hear the news of Elizabeth death in 1603 I wonder what her reaction would be if she became queen in 1603 what is your opinion and thoughts I would love to know your opinion thanks so much for reading my comment

@@raumaanking well good question. Elizabeth was a paranoid Queen so maybe she would have kept guard of Jane Grey by putting her in house arrest. If Jane Grey managed to outlive the Queen or had children then the throne would be very different. For example, James I was also the king of Scotland and thus he became King of Britain. If Jane or her children ruled, England and Scotland would’ve still be divided unless Jane’s children or descendants married the Scottish Heirs to unite both Kingdoms
