So much to love here !!! My dear friend and mentor, James Moody !!! Clark's all around brilliance, and the slick Star Eyes quote. Sweets' laid back but rock solid time feel, and Straighten Up and Fly right quote. And this is just to name a few in a slew of brilliance and deeply swingin' playing.........

Excellent all round, but the standout for me is Ray Brown - very clearly recorded. His lines are superb, and the intonation is spot on. Bass playing doesn't get better than that.

I just love how clark terry starts his solo, taking over moody's idea and then bringing it back when drums and piano come back in (beginning of his 2nd chorus)

I was going to point that out also. What an ear! What a talent! And the way he would quote while rolling. You have to be paying attention to take it all in.

the fact that Diz adjusted Clark's microphone says the level of respect he had for clark(and im sure vice versa) and that clark was the real deal. Clark's my favorite of all time.

Nice to see a video of this piano giant. Until I saw this, I had only his superb recordings for Blue Note, from 1958 through 1962.
