My grandparents had a Bulgarian restaurant in Israel back in the 60’s. I grew up loving this soup and I’m here now watching this clip because I was looking for instructions on how to make this soup. Thank you for sharing!

@@ATasteofBulgaria A question also, the corona restrictions in Bulgaria require a green pass or negative test for most public places right? I have chosen not to take the vaccine so will this make daily life very difficult down there?

At the moment it’s only required to have a Green Certificate in malls, very large shops (but not supermarkets) bars and restaurants. If you have recovered from COVID you are able to obtain a green certificate also

It's very common women here don't like Shkembe chorba and most of the men do like it lol I would say shkembe chorba is very, very tasty, but I also don't eat it that often. But it is really good meal for a hangover!

The type of beans which Norman showed look like pebbles . They are not buttery in flavor like white bean is but earthy and more potent because of the soil elements and climate .

Skembe Chorba is okay, but it's like most local cuisine, why eat if you can eat something much better? As a Yorkshireman from Barnsley who grew up eating tripe with salt, pepper and vinegar, pigs trotters and beef hearts because that was all we could afford, I'd always much rather have a good steak given the option. Another great video insight.

I'll tell you a secret, mostly the men like shkembe chorba (also garlic make most of the taste), my mom is a master chief and she make perfect shkembe but does not like it but i adore it, it is indeed a soup for men.
