Thanks for my awakening 🎉🎉🎉 Professor Hunter, and Dr. Carr, I can not express my sense of indebtedness to you both for your willingness to share your passion for exposing, teaching, and sharing the richness of our heritage. What you two are doing is priceless. Being 66 years here, an “Angry Black Man; Who Ain’t Mad About it,” who is enjoying this weekend which is my very first Kemet-based understanding of this Spring Solstice weekend celebration. ‘Easter’ was another one of those bamboozlement tactics I now know. That’s why I ain’t mad about it; now I know. My thirst for knowledge of us, we the people kissed by the sun, is being satisfied by you, Karen & you, Dr. Carr. ❤

Professor Karen, this segment made me really think and reflect. The part where both you and Dr. Carr said what if there is no heaven and only this? Professor Karen I don't need a place with golden streets and a big mansion, but there is something in my spirit that very much longs to be with my mamma again. The Bible says we are created in God's image and I know it can't be talking about ethnicity, gender, weight and height that part of us that is like God has to be eternal. I don't know if we call it essence, energy or spirit. Professor Karen how would we account for all of our ancestors who had their lives snatched from them from lynching, gun violence, wrongful imprisonment, disease, homelessness and so much more. What happens in those moments when a life is not fully realized? I can entertain the idea that perhaps there is NO heaven, but I know I am more than this body with all these social constructs that categorize me. Thank you Professor Karen for a segment that makes one reach within.

A thought… We are in an imagination battle. Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown and Renisha McBride and so many others are dead because, in some white imagination, they were dangerous. And that imagination is so respected that those who kill based on an imagined, radicalized fear of Black people are rarely held accountable. Imagination has people thinking they can go from being poor to a millionaire as part of a shared American dream. Imagination turns Brown bombers into terrorists and white bombers into mentally ill victims. Imagination gives us borders, gives us superiority, gives us race as an indicator of ability… I often feel I am trapped inside someone else’s imagination, and I must engage my own imagination in order to break free. When we talk about thinking outside the box, the real exercise and challenge is to step entirely out of the boundaries brown* refers to, and to deploy our own imaginations and understanding of the world. I believe that the catalyst for real and lasting change exists in our ability to do this. That is, to radically imagine new possibilities (even if they feel out of reach), to question the way things are, and to stretch the boundaries of what could be.

Dr. Carr, the first group that felt threatened by Jesus was the religious hierarchy in Israel. The Pharisees were an Orthodox segment that wanted a closer adherence to Jewish religious laws. Because Jesus healed on the Sabbath, he transgressed the laws. But they couldn't come against him publicly since his popularity with the common folk was easily seen. So, they enlisted the Roman procurator to do what they were afraid to do.

I love these two! Knowledge incarnate! I so feel Professor about organized religion. Sad to say, I can't countenance "intellects" who claim to buy into these sacred texts...like Cornell West. Once I realized this there were many more flaws I found in his "intellectual" wisdom. But as Brother Carr points out...you can't argue with people who have adopted a template of thought on "faith". I'm not an atheist. I just can't subscribe to man-made constructs of God. Though Gospel MUSIC can take you to that other place. Our spirituality, sans construct is a beautiful thing.
