I'm so glad Dr. Carr spoke about their culture of scarcity and epigenetic. They come from a situation where there was no abundance so violence and suspicion was the only way to protect resources. Which explains that need to conquer absolutely everything they see. It also destroys their narrative, that they conquered our lands through their intellect. They conquered our land directly through their much stronger predisposal to violence. That's why our people were both curious and welcoming when they landed on our shores. Our ancestors had food, shelter, security, and happiness in abundance and had ample time to evolve their knowledge and consciousness, which inherently makes one more peaceful.

The Supreme Court has returned to its role as the defender of class privilege, racial hierarchy, and reaction.
@KB91879
@KB91879 2 жыл бұрын
It isn't a return, it's the court operating as it always does. 90+% of SC cases are ruled against the interest of regular people. And these rulings have been supported by "liberal" judges like RBG and conservatives alike. The court has always supported the united corporation of america. You have to look at the rulings as a whole and not just the hotbed topics known to rile up emotions. The Miranda ruing is getting no attention.

Sadly, when I ask many of my loved ones questions starting with, “how do u reconcile…” the answers are, “I don’t.” “We can agree to disagree.” “We don’t talk about that.” So many don’t accept the reality, while painfully living all the consequences. People choose over and over to avoid thinking. I’m so grateful for this convo.

So glad I tuned in to this session with Karen , Dr. Carr & Lurie Daniel Favors. .for a 77 year old Black Man this is just what I needed to hear.. .This was surly a Master Class..So much ground was covered esp on topics ,questions that one seldom hears at this depth & level...This world can weary ones soul ..But this Class was a great uplift to this old Man.. I loved the answer from Lurie Daniels Favors about Both/And.. instead of either or Both/And seems to be imbedded in a African world view & either or which seems to be more binary & European worldview..A famous Jazz club on the West coast that I used to go to in the early 70's was called Both/And..it took me years to understand what was meant by the name.. Than I got it...! Thank You All For Such A Rich discussion ..!!

Wonderful show. I watch often after my Shabbat study and always feel edified in the intellectual conversations on In Class with Carr. I listen to you all on SXM and value your work and scholarship. I am a late diasporan, with deep Hebrew roots in Igbo Nigeria and Falasha Ethiopia. The Hebrew language is first African, then Asiatic and very close to my heart. The separation of Israel/Hebrew from 'Africa' has been a fatal blow to diasporans worldwide. Europeans always dress up as every culture and ethnicity in the movies, and they do it in real life in many ways as well. The North African and the Levantine we see today are the result of many exchanges of land rulership, imperialism and of course the Balfour Declaration. Israel as 'African' is valid and historical and needs to be accepted as a diasporan identity to be reclaimed in Africana scholarship. I know the message is long and sensitive, but its truth. Blessings

Today's conversation made me stop several times and declare, "This has got to be their best conversation ever!" But then, I've wanted to shout something similar for the vast majority of the other 119. I would assume, as seasoned professors, journalists, teachers and leaders that you are, you've encountered fatigue, from the student, listener and reader, to the teacher, writer and speaker. However, you all's passion, persistence and positive expectancy for the work of liberation of our people through reeducation, and rebuilding continues to inspire and rejuvenate. I noted this in the interchange regarding "grace," 40 years in the wilderness, and the practical examples and models of cultural schools (Hebrew schools), a common language (Kiswahili, Mdr ntr or Hausa) and local networking and action centered in long term efforts like Knarrative, Knubia and the like. You reminded me, and I do believe others, of the power of one, committed, connected and steeped in awareness and consciousness of the cultural history and genius of us, AFRICANS, whether continental or diasporan. Ase. Asante sana.

Let’s invite pro ballers, rappers, street folk, to Knarrative and Knubia along with their understandings or misunderstandings, whatever! But we have to expose us to unity to become unified in whatever way we can. Consider ourselves the talented tenth! We make Ujima and Ujamaa and ultimate Kujichagulia! Although, as you guys said, we arrived at the same realization, this is a humongous endeavour....Then to hear people like Mrs. Favors esq is already doing this, now you guys are going to expand it...But, to have black orphanages , afterschool, and summer camps that teach these principles and break the power of propaganda. Oh, wow! What they say about "great minds", y'all's great minds have come together and hit a jackpot. Wonderful, how exciting!!! :-)
