Professor Karen you are SO beautiful. That was the most beautiful thing you said about yourself in regards to being 23 at one time and now being at a different stage and understand more. That time of thinking takes away eternal sin and eternal condemnation and the need to perpetually repent and be policed spiritually and let me even say this it removes the idea that God could ever hate you or disown you. Both you and Dr. Carr are so very wonderful and yes we all have done things and now at a different stage are still living under that shame. Thank you Professor Karen.

This reminds me of Sunday mornings from my childhood. All the kids would sit around and, quietly, sit and listen. It not being perfect back then aside; There are so many gems spread out across my childhood. The good news now is Sister Hunter and Dr. Carr have awaken those cultural 'placeholders'. I haven't even begun to unpack all those gifts. Our DNAncestors have been busy. 🌇🕯✌🏾

I posted this on Knubia but wanted to share this with our KZbin family as well. I attended Osceola High School in Osceola County. About 40 minutes away from Eatonville. About two hours from the University of Florida. Right in the shadow of Disney World. In fact, I worked in Downtown Disney (present day Disney Springs) approximately 20 years ago. I was a full grown adult visiting St. Augustine, when I found out Chief Osceola's full story. The same Chief Osceola who is on the horse throwing the spear at the beginning of each Florida State University football game. The same Chief Osceola who has been the logo for the school district since 1887. He was captured in 1837 in St. Augustine, FL where he went for peace talks that turned out to be a trap. He died three months later in a military prison in early 1838. THEN, some army surgeon cut his head off right before his funeral. He took it to make a death mask. The head was then owned by some New York doctor, Valentine Mott. The head was lost in a fire in 1865. And now the death mask is at the New York Historical Society.

Amazing lesson today, Carr. You touched on monetary values and instilled dependency. I've always looked at the brothers who tell others, it's all about green. Get money, then suddenly having a better life. Guaranteed. Putting all that aspiration into a game, that wasn't made for you to win.

I was down in BellHarbor Florida at a Union Convention in the 80''s. And was "Karen " by a Cuban woman about the way I was walking. Which was the only way I knew how to walk. She said, "I can tell how you walk that you ain't from Florida." I thought to myself maybe I ain't in America. Not surprised at all about DeSantis and the controversy of being woke and the abandoning of black history books.

To add the instead of economics/relationship, once again in Ghana 🇬🇭 1. You find that you could go to a trader e.g. orange seller and want to buy all her oranges and she would refuse. Many people with a western concept of money would say- she isn’t serious she doesn’t want money. One time when I asked market women they do that their response was - “we have customers who we know will come. We don’t want a situation where they come and we don’t have anything to sell to them. Because they could have bought it anywhere but they are our customers so they come to us. We must have something to sell to them.” And I understood it. That is why in markets in various African countries you can have people selling the exact same thing sitting next to each other and it doesn’t look competitive. Everyone has their customer who would come to them. It is simply a relationship.
