My father once told me "there is beauty is wisdom sought, but there is timelessness in wisdom gained, especially for a people who are suffering from amnesia" (he was explaining the Jewish search for itself throughout the bible). In Class with Carr is wisdom offered, it is our job to seek it and gain its nutrients. To Dr. Hunter and Dr. Carr, thank you for remembering where you came from and being who we (as Africans) are; generous, brilliant and enlivening.

We " Africans " have a responsibility to teach our children real history. The social structure is committed to make sure our children are neither trained or educated. I believe the miseducation of our children is our failure. The chief reason our community is off code is because we let people who are hostile to us educate our children. There is no America for us to save. Remember white supremacy is a global system. Unless we can completely control it we should be working to avert it influence over us. Black independence needs to be the goal.

Dr. Carr, I can certainly recall looking at that bogus panel presentation, when you made your "debut" on center stage at Howard during that "fluff" made for television. When you left your seat and walked down the aisle to address the question, I knew that someone had "slipped' up at the gatekeepers union, and I was dancin' in my home with joy that ONE had gotten through...and, I am still dancin' as you break shackles and free minds. YAY-BOH!!! Keep it REAL as you endeavor to teach in front of you, beside you, and those coming behind you. The STRUGGLE continues!!! Love you!!!

This is for me THE MOST IMPORTANT In Class With Carr. Prof Hunt's skill of asking questions with genuine interest and purpose just blew the doors open for Dr Carr to what he was born to teach especially in discerning the difference between male and female is not gender assignment man and woman. And the account of the young Afrikkan man's European university education and the knowledge he already had. I am being challenged to make sure that what I believe is not just because of who the person is but the knowledge of the resources the person uses to build that knowledge and belief. My third time listening.

Eternal love for you both Karen Hunter and Dr. Greg Carr, I’m sure you hear this enough but I look forward to Saturday’s with y’all. The masterful explanations that you give about the society that we live in and the way y’all broke down Mr. West is incredible. I am at a place between disgust and remorse with regards to Kanye because while in recent years I find myself disagreeing with damn near everything that comes out of his mouth, disgust because he’s lost his way and chosen this path for himself but remorse because he’s lost and can’t even see it.
