Thanks guys, that was great! Please please do a part 3 and get back Graham, Beeb, and that other bald guy for a round two chat. So much more to cover.

It was real treat to see David Briggs and George McArdle 1st time in Chrysler Hall Norfolk VA I think in 1978. The band Ambrosia opened for you guys. It was an amazing show. Second time was in Hampton Virginia or was it Williamsburg 1979. It's all running together now but after the show I was able to talk to David in the limo after the show and remember how nice he was to take the time. I remember asking what that box was on top of your amp. You said in a very Aussie accent a Digital Delay. Doubt you will read this, but thanks for taking the time to talk guitar gear that night. One of the best pieces of music I have ever heard Light of Day, still stands today.

The three most humble members from the classic little river band line up...all such down to earth guy's😊😊Derek must surely be one of the nicest guys to ever grace the Australian music scene n in his hey day would have everyone in stitches with his sense of humour 😁😁 and on top of this he was a fantastic drummer..his "timing" was second to none LEGEND 😊😊

I hear LRB daily on a couple of our local radio stations, especially in the evening for some reason and it’s always a joy to hear those classic songs. When I hear the key intro to Lady the volume goes UP and I’m singing all the way home.

This is another fantastic you tube clip, thanks for part 1 & part 2. The one & only time I saw Little River Band was at the Jan 1979 Nambassa 3 day Music festival in New Zealand. L.R.B. headlined at the festival when 'Reminiscing' was No1 & Split Enz had just released their 'True Colours' & 'I see Red' was riding high. LRB played late Sunday night. We decided to leave the festival at the end of LRB's set only to find someone had stolen the battery out of our Vauxhall Viva, Viva's bonnets could only be opened from the outside. It was about 2.30am, so we pinched someone else's battery from another Viva nearby. Always wondered if the owners of the Viva we raided repeated what we did to another Viva & so on & so on. lol

On November 20 1976, George Harrison appeared on Saturday Night Live with Paul Simon. On the same night, Little River Band plays The Lyric Capri Theatre, Kansas City. Derek's memory is right.

Totally agree with George with his remark on Derek. I listened to the BSG DVD many times and every time I think, shit I miss Derek. The guy they hired did a good job but it wasn't THAT feel and sound. Tells you what an important factor the drummer is to a band!!
@cheezhead60072 жыл бұрын
Great to hear these bandmates talk about their early dates they seem as happy and as well as they all sang together. And what I was amazed me being a southpaw myself with half the band(George Beeb and Derek) being Lefty's what a balance!

Saw these guys in Wichita KS early 1979 (I think) and the thing I remember most, even more than David Briggs' guitar playing, was how locked into each other these two guys were. I've seen a lot of other great bands and great rhythm sections but nobody was as tight. It's almost like they were in their own world back there, just propping everything else up. What an education! Of course, the whole band was great but when the bottom end is locked down like that, well...

Graeham had an interview recently with "The Real Music Observer" (David Spuria) on You Tube and I don't think he realised Spuria had made about a dozen videos rubbishing the originals and supporting the current phoneys. He quickly removed those videos after the interview

He put out a video stating that he was wrong once he found out the truth of what happened to the original guys.

Sick of the haters about the name issue. Bottom line the whingers had a chance to own the name but they declined and missed the opportunity so that doesn't mean the guy that now owns the name gets crucified. Move on the guy legally acquired the name and that comes with certain privileges. One founding member got very handsomely financially for selling his share. He was not forced to do this. Cant have your cake and eat it too.
@ShorrockBirtlesGoble3 жыл бұрын
This video doesn’t mention the name issue or the American band which contains no original members at all? Not sure what you mean about ‘whinging’ Villaboy. Ironically, you’re the only one ‘whinging’ about it on this page. Before you leave a comment or review, it’s always a good idea to watch the video so you know what you’re talking about.

The original guys never voluntarily sold the name to anyone. It was the manager that made the deal without informing them what was going on legally.
