Many returned with a plan to their ancestral home upon retirement sending their next generation abroad . The world today has offered a wide range of new opportunities . Portugal... offers the privilege to Goa ..... Interestingly.... So many from other parts of the SubContinent47...want to be Goan today... ..........

Adv. Radharao gracias what about people who left government jobs an migrated there, an you say well paid jobs do you know what type of jobs are those? Even in goa those type of jobs are well paid, an you say goans who have migrated in UK are not involved in economic offenses, what about the modko which they have stared in UK an other types of gambling which are run by goans overthere, an one more thing goans have also taken with them their crab mentality that is pulling other goan people down if they are progressing, this was told to me by my fellow villagers.

I concede I am parochial when it com es to Goans and I normally defend my community anywhere and everywhere. I know we Goans are not saints and we do have our weak spots. But I will assert that relative to other countrymen we are far more honest and less susceptible to crime whether in our homeland or in foreign countries.That is what I have said. I always say to myself if I do not defend fellow Goans who will?

@@rgracias I have said and written many times that I, having been born pre 1961 in Goa, am by right a Portuguese National up to this day, but because Goa is now Indian, I have by law become an Indian Citizen. In other words, I am today a Portuguese National , but an Indiam Citizen. Note: there is a difference between Nationality and Citizenship, which I am sure Adv. Gracias will agree with.

A total of 32,53,912 foreign nationals have been registered as OCI cardholders and 4,14,906 OCI cards have been issued in lieu of person of Indian origin (PIO) cards till March 2019, according to the home ministry's annual report for 2018-19.22 Nov 2019. Out of these 92% are Hindus, 3.1% are Christians, 4 percent are Muslims and 0.9% are other faith. Do People in Goa who discriminate against Goan individuals who migrated with Portuguese passport know about this or are they ignorant who just talk without knowing facts.
