In Conversation with Shobha De

A conversation with contemporary journalist and author Shobhaa De, who successfully challenged - and changed - the face of journalism in India. Here she talks about her latest book Insatiable.
Shobhaa De was voted by Reader’s Digest as one of ‘India’s Most Trusted People’ and by Daily News and Analysis as one of the ’50 Most Powerful Women in India’, Shobhaa De is a bestselling author and a popular social commentator. Her works, both fiction and non-fiction, have been featured in comparative literature courses at universities in India and abroad. Her writing has been translated into many languages including Hindi, Marathi, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish, among others.
Moderated by Salil Tripathi, born in Bombay, India, is a contributing editor at Mint and Caravan in India. He currently chairs PEN International’s Writers in Prison Committee. In the UK, he was a board member of English PEN from 2009 to 2013 and co-chaired English PEN’s Writers-at-Risk Committee with novelist Kamila Shamsie. Salil has received numerous awards for his journalism, including the Red Ink Award from the Mumbai Press Club in 2015 and the third prize at the Bastiat Awards for Journalism in November 2011. With extensive global journalism experience, he has written for notable publications in the United States, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, and India. Salil holds an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College, having previously graduated from the University of Bombay.
