Tim, I met you early that day , in 1969, when you were wounded in action, when you came down into the operations bunker to request a ride-a-long on one of our combat assault missions.i remember telling you " sir, we don't take civilians on combat assault missions" to be reprimanded by a senior officer who told me, " put him on one of the slicks" and your unforgettable taste of combat. The helicopter company were the "hornets" the 116th assault helicopter company, out of cu chi base camp, we worked for the25th division, on and off, but we're not part of that chain of command. We performed those type of missions, 7 days a week, non stop. A member of the gun ship platoon remembers killing an enemy soldier, who was headed in your direction, after you, upon your departure from our Uh1-Charley. On that insertion. Our gunships flew low and slow, attempting to protect the soldiers, recently deposited into that AO. The medical unit we dropped you off at was the 12 evac, at Cu Chi., glad to see
