William Roberts is a real gem to have in the watch community. It was a pleasure meeting him (I had no idea ‘who’ I was talking to at the time). So polite, honest and forthcoming with his knowledge. Thanks for the advice Spacefruit!

I have a 145.012-67 I bought back in 1969 just before Neil landed on the Moon. It's been repaired a couple of times but I still wear it every day and it still looks new. I love it!

What a great video, and what an astonishing collection. I have had an obsession with Speedmasters since my early teens, now in my late sixties. I am hoping my wife takes the hint and finally lets me have one for my 70th! Mr Roberts is an amazing collector of these pieces. I live in awe of him.

This story gets me a bit emotional to be honest. To have longed for this watch more than 50 years and still to be hopeful to acquire one. I hope you get one real soon. I love my Speedmaster and think it’s the best watch in the world. You should have the same experience. If your priorities get even close to pulling the trigger on one of these I hope you do. Much love from a Speedmaster enthusiast.

Wei! Hands Down you have produced THEEEE BEST Speedmaster interviews (i.e., Davidoff Bros, and Mr William Roberts). Hodinkee Reference Points is right there, but nobody matches your personality, verve, passion, and excitement for gaining and sharing knowledge. Keep it up my man!

Contrary to Mr. Koh's assertion, there are PLENTY of well worn, beat up Rolex watches (and I know he knows this). I bet a good amount of the ones that are pristine were probably bought to mark an important achievement or event in the owner's life and therefore was well taken care of. At any rate, it was an awesome interview! Even thought I now mostly collect Rolex watches, I still have one Speedamster and there is no doubt that the Speedmaster has a well deserved following.

I must say, I wanted a speed master for a while and when I came across this video I went out a year ago to the Omega boutique and bought one. Sadly to say I bought it right before covid-19 and I live in a state where I can't really go out so I have never worn it and it just sits in a safe. Hopefully life gets back to normal someday and I can wear it out to dinner and what not. I didn't buy it to wear to work and get it damaged. Anyway this video inspired me to buy one and now I am on the hunt for a seamaster. OMEGA rules!!!!

At 17:50 He starts to explain why some Omega Speedmasters have the mk2 hands, this is information that has been hard to find. I was given my father's Omega Speedy pro, when he passed away. He absolutely loved the watch. And it has the mk2 hands, but also a later late 70s dial. On the cashback it has a 1979 service mark. This is all coming together now as the watch is an original 1969 watch.

Amazing video to watch Wei, over the years my watch collection has gone in different diffraction but now I am thinking more about an emphasis on more Vintage Omega Speedmasters after watching your most recent video as well on the 50th Anniversary. When I first met you in person you inspired me to buy which to this day is still one of my favourite timepieces one of the very first Girard-Perregaux that you unveiled, a breakthrough providing a revolutionary solution to improve isochronism in wristwatches - the Constant Escapement. The idea of Nicolas Déhon dates from the late 1990s I later learnt when he started to elaborate the first ELF (Echappement à Lame Flambée) design and was brought to life a few years later thanks to modern technology and silicon. I now have two of these, about to purchase a third, while they may not of retained the initial value, they will be in my collection for decades to come and handed down to my children and grand children. While the timepiece can easily be mistaken as an elaborate SWATCH to an untrained eye, I think it will in time be something that will be talked about in the same way as the great significance to modern American horological history, New York City and a watch worn by one of the most well known architects. I am talking about the massively iconic and rather under-appreciated Bulova Accutron Spaceview 214. A watch Sir Richard Rogers has owned for over 44 years and the crowning achievement in Bulova's incredible history of innovation in watchmaking .
