I don't get why Aquaman's action doesn't get more praise, it's the most kinetic and tactile superheroes have ever felt, my jaw figuratively dropped when I saw the lighthouse fight. My only nitpick is the rooftop chase is edited and scored better in the extended trailer than the movie.

My take on the DCEU is that I kinda get what it was going for, and it was to a degree necessary to have something more serious and thoughtful (on paper, anyway) compared to Marvel's more lighthearted fare. However, the execution was... messy, especially towards the end between the Justice League debacle and pretty much everything concerning The Flash.

That first Suicide Squad trailer that leaked at Comic Con is to date still my favourite trailer. It was very influential in terms of using a remade version of a popular song with a meaning tied to the film. It was also, to me, the film that REALLY jumpstarted trailer reaction vids. There was so much promise before the actual film shattered it.

Gunn said that The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker are canon to the DCU, except for the justice league scene. In my opinion, coming from the fact Chris sometimes has hallucinations (like talking to his dead dad) they could retcon it that the JL scene is just that, a hallucination. Annyways, these 2 projects and the amazing Creature Commandos got me so hyped and confident in Gunn's DCU. can't wait!

​@@kdusel1991I think it set the stage perfectly 60+ DC characters is a lot to show effectively and they pulled it off while making me excited for what is to come next. Which was the entire point of it coming first. Gunn has said it is like the appetizer before the main course that being Superman. So I'm guessing the general audience is gonna skip it which is fine cause they all have separate confined stories with an overarching plot just like the first 3 phases of the MCU which even back then had it's highs and lows so I have high hopes with moderate expectations.

It's selective canon, similar to how Star Wars announced that upon acquisition by Disney, all Extended Universe content is no longer canon to the films going forward, but they can still pull from them and decide to re-canonize all or just parts from them in future titles. This is how the Clone Wars TV series became re-canonized during the Mandalorian and Ahsoka.

I'll drop my two cents as the video goes on. First, let Zack Snyder direct, keep him away of the writers room. EDIT 1: Josstice League, love how you point out riduculous things and say you love those moments. It's helping me heal, and love them too xD EDIT 2: The Flash, despite what it meant for the DCEU (a period after a sequence of mostly disjointed sentences), in a vaccum, is a very entertaining movie with a strong emotional core. I watched it expecting to hate it, but I really enjoyed it. EDIT 3: You sold me on Blue Beetle, I have to watch it. EDIT 4: I totally forgot about Aquaman 2, I'll try to watch it this weekend. Plus, that show Abolish Everything sounds amazing xD

In my opinion the DCEU had potential but it tried so hard to be serious and less whimsical that it ended up making it hard for new fans and barely enjoyable for old fans depending on who you ask, you can make something serious amd realistic without taking away it's charm

I have not seen peacemaker still in and it was honestly very upsetting to see you dive so deeply into the show when it’s clearly a mixed cannon between DCEU and new DCU it just doesn’t work the way that it was supposed to and for me, it’s hard to go back into that now now that it’s mixed canon, I don’t know if this is related more to the stuff I’m going to be seeing or the stuff I saw beforeand it might be very enjoyable but again if your examining the DCEU as it was, how do I feel about peacemaker? I disagree that Dr Fate differentiated from Dr Strange. His look is incredible. Pierce Brosnan is absolutely perfect. The only thing I vehemently defend of the DCEU is they have the best live action batman fight scenes. The Flash is an awful movie, but those Batman scenes are gold. It’s fortunate and unfortunate Ben Affleck didn’t get his own Batman movie. Personally in terms of looks Batfleck has the best live action suit and is a very convincing Bruce Wayne.

Saying The Suicide Squad is better than the likes of Infinity War and Winter Soldier is totally wild to me. It is decent but not more than that. It isn't even better than GotG1 (Gunn's only truly great Super Hero movie to date), saying it is comfortably clear of all MCU films is just insane.

No, sorry, Black Adam was the worst DCU movie. It's the only one that made me literally sleepy. Well, OK WW84 comes close, and Dr Fate was great. But watching an invincible man massacre helpless henchmen is not fun unless it's Robocop doing it.
