It’s definitely on DC to make any sort of competition. Interest by audiences has been incredibly low for DC, that’s not something you’re winning back in a year (and especially not with Superman, a character that isn’t super popular anymore) Marvel and DC are on 2 completely separate planes.

I think you absolutely nailed Thunderbolts. My biggest complaint when the team was announced was "this is boring, they're all the same" and to see that that's basically the vibe of the trailer really got me to 180 on the movie. It doesn't hurt that I'm also 30 and trying to figure out how to transition from "young adult" to "adult".

Brave New World needs to be solid. It doesn't need to be a home run, but it's pivotal in making any ongoing saga meaningful. Thunderbolts could get away with flopping because I don't think there are many expectations. But man, I'd love to see it done well. Low power, human interactions would be a welcome change to the MCU.

If Brave New World turns out to be a dud, I think it's gonna hurt normie opinion on the MCU severely. Its our 1st official new Cap movie and first one to follow D&W. Brave New World is also the movie that seems to be about looking towards the MCUs future (in difference to D&W). I'm worried it's failure could have a bad effect or lower public interest in the later films even if the others turn out to be amazing.

I have almost too much faith in the creative team behind Thunderbolts. The director and one of the writers have done great things with mentally complicated characters so I have the utmost confidence they will deliver. Plus the trailers have done a great job of one showing the more serious tones of the movie, and the special look showing more of the fun team dynamics (and reintroducing some characters casuals may have forgotten about, like Ghost and Taskmaster)

I feel like at this point Marvel can throw out banger after banger, but one bad (read that as "ok") and we'll see videos like this. This isn't a "it's popular to bash marvel" thing, even if I think that's true, just a the MCU has been around long enough people that aren't diehard comic fans are tired. Even if every movie was original, with different tones, art direction, oscar worthy acting and writing, people are still gonna find issues. That’s what they really needed to pull people back in, one hood Avengers movie to tie the new characters together and give the general audience a reason to care again. Would have given the new direction since Endgame some, well, actual direction and momentum. If I was Feige I wouldn’t do an Armor Wars show / movie, I’d do a West Coast Avengers movie. Throw new characters like Shang Chi, She Hulk and Moon Knight into it. Wonder Man, too. And have old characters like War Machine, Ant Man and Vision in it too.

Fun Fact, Disney bought Marvel in 2009 for about $4B and today it is estimated to be worth over $53B. While on the other hand Warner Bros. Discovery as a whole (including all subsidiaries like DC, Cartoon Network, etc) is worth less than $30B and repeated losses for WB made them sell the company so many times, from AT&T to Discovery to don't know how much. If DCU fails again, I think it is all over for WBD, and Disney might even buy them out.

Yeah I miss the days when I was a teenager and both didn't have access to social media and when the fanbase around marvel was completely united in hype around a new movie. Now if even one thing is just okay or bad every few projects, people jump back into screaming about Marvel dying. Then something great comes out and everything is back on track. Then a mediocre project releases and they're back to the doomposting. At this point, I’m more disgusted by the amount of money Disney is wasting than how bad most shows and movies have been. 10:38 IronHeart may be the currently forgotten mcu show, but the real forgotten show has been Armor Wars. We’ve heard literally nothing about that Show singe it was announced back in 2020 (which friendly reminder, was before WandaVision even released). I’m starting to think even Marvel themselves forgot they were making that show.

My personal ranking of excitement Fantastic 4 Daredevil Wonder man Captain America Zombies Spider-Man Thunderbolts Iron heart Wakanda Ig I’m Excited for all. I fear I might find wakanda boring but ik an iron fist is in it and I also love black panther. I don’t dislike iron heart. I think her suits on page and screen are very cool and well designed. I like the hood and the show finished filming over 2 years ago so hopefully the cgi is amazing. I also saw practical suits on set which is what the iron man suits need again. I was watching iron man 1 the other day and I said this looks real and better then any suit after it

Marvel has been broken for since Endgame. It's very obvious they have no clue how or where to take things next. Deadpool 3 was an outlier because there was massive hype around it for years. The fact they had to drag RDJ back from the grave to play a new character, is a very clear sign of the state of the MCU.

I think the breaking point will be the Avengers movies. If the box office for them is underwhelming then we'll see how much damage doghsit like Eternals, Thor 4, Ant-Man 3, Secret Invasion, What If has really done to the brand.

You mentioned something that has been a problem since 2021, Characters not interacting, Outside of alternate realities, Moon knight, She hulk, Shang chi, Kate bishop, Amerca chavez, Ms marvel, Echo, And The eternals have appeared in a grand total of 2 projects outside of their own debuts, With kate appearing in an end credits scene. Sure there are some projects coming up where they appear, but in a few months, it will mark the 4 year anniversary since some of these characters have appeared, It is just too big, Imagine if we had to wait 4 years between captain america and the avengers to see captain rogers again. Sure, we have more projects to juggle, but that is a separate issue of potentially too much stuff with no build up

There is nothing that will save the MCU in 2025. It's done, it's cold pizza. Pizza, but not optimal. But you go back and have it anyway. The MCU will never recover from phases 4 and 5. There's been little glimmers of hope, but after 2025 I wouldn't be surprised that they just close up shop on the entire MCU.

2025 will be make for marvel. Projects in 2025 that are great: - spiderman animated show, daredevil, thunderbolts, fantastic four, marvel zombies 2025 projects that will be decent or a plesent suprise: - captain america 4, iron heart, eyes of wakanda What could be bad: - iron heart, cpatin america 4 but nothing else.
