This is the fourth and final part of a series of four videos that walk through some of the highlights and challenges/solutions for this fantastic model-the Bandai 1:5000 scale Star Destroyer. This kit includes both the Rebel Blockade Runner as well as the Millennium Falcon from Episode IV and therefore aims to replicate Darth Vader’s destroyer, the Devastator.
This video focuses on the following:
Final main body light blocking
Custom battery pack build and installation
Remote power switch installation
Tesa tape application
Design, build and installation of custom ion engine flaps

And if you wanted a mild flickering engine lights are very affordable way to do this is to buy a inexpensive artificial flickering light candle take the mechanism out and simply hook up your LEDs to the chip that does the flickering you can get these for about $4.50 eBay or Amazon

The hangar deck lighting looks good , but as for everything else I don’t know if the model comes with pre-drilled holes but unfortunately the light holes are too big for the scale of the model , every time I watch the movie you really can only see tiny fiber-optic lights on the bridge & the hanger deck and a little bit on the left and right sides , and when you do see fiber-optic windows they are extremely tiny half of the diameter of the pinholes on this model and I see that everybody makes the same mistake by making the fiber-optic lights or the pinholes way too big way too bright I don’t understand why it’s so hard to look at the movie and match what the movie is doing

Thanks for leaving such a thoughtful comment. I wouldn't be surprised if you are right that the windows for the precast hull parts are out of scale given how huge the vessel is. I have no idea, but it might be a limit of the molding process to have pin prick sized holes. I can imagine that someone has already filled and drilled their own windows on this kit, which would be quite an undertaking! All the best.

Hi Captain! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I’m really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the series and even learned a bit along the way! I don’t think I mentioned it in the video, but there is also a full build summary video of the build available. While a fair bit of the footage is the same as in the detailed series, it also has some unique content, including footage showing the wiring of the SMD lighting in the aft hangar. There are even a few different photos and videos to see at the end! Here is the link in case that is of any interest: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGPckIWdfLmdo8k All the best!
