Thanks for the indepth info regarding GG. The two segments I found most fascinating was the Drone RNG% chance of explosion and the fact after a drone explodes, it will retain it's ATK parameter if it retargets the same target. I really dislike the RNG% Explosion chance because it really changes how I view GG's potential and I feel the stated 10% is now misinterpreted even if the math is technically correct - but I understand it was also done like that for the sake of ease to digest her kit. To me it's also weird to see GG compared to Eyjafjalla since I would figure they both serve different niches in your roster. Arknights has always been a game about using the right tool for the right job and some operators are just more optimal than others and vice versa depending on the content they are participating in. Nothing has changed with that. I also never really thought of just how potent that S1 is until it was stated in this video, so thanks for that enlightening experience too. Good work for the video 👍

The idea that every operator has a niche, while true, is also somewhat misleading for anyone who isn't a whale. It costs a lot of resources to build these 6* units. Unless you're buying OP, you probably can't afford to build a Schwarz and a Ro3emka. An Eyja and GG and Carnelian to fill similar-but-not-quite "niche" roles. Blaze and Gavial2. Specialization is often ideal, but limited resources also necessitate finding ops that fill the generalist role best. Thus far, that has unquestionably been Eyja. So the real question is... can GG oust her as the all-purpose go-to caster? The one you should level up first? If the defense of Eyja not being "killed" in this context is that she has a valid niche.... uuhhhh... that kinda confirms that GG might actually be an "Eyja killer." It certainly represents a fall from grace for Eyja. Drails hints at this himself by pointing out that GG has become the preferred caster for blind runs or days you just want to complete content and move on. Lowkey you guys do seem to be saying Eyja is outclassed everywhere except the helidrop burst role; which would flip her dominance from the beginning of Arknights on its head. Up to now, Eyja is the de facto premiere caster. If you're going to build one caster, right now, it's Eyja. Later on, you can consider adding Ceobe, Passenger, Carnelian (and eventually when we get the module -- Mostima). It sounds like, in the future, that is perhaps not the case. And Eyja joins the ranks of the niche casters.

@@niallk9336 While I do agree that not everyone is a whale, I think you are also making an incorrect assumption that every player who isn't a whale also has access to every single 6* operator to potentially build. To quote you, unless you are buying OP, you are unlikely to have every single 6* in the game. As such, a new player will most likely only have either GG or Eyjafjalla and not both at the same time. If both can work well in general content, you build whichever operator is available to you at the time. If you do happen to luck into both, which is also a possibility, then you build the one operator who's high end niche you appreciate more and then move resources on to other operators to fill the gaps of your roster. With the above being said, yes, selector tickets exist but those only occur every so often and I'm sure players will have the sense to know not to overlap operator roles when buying that ticket to flesh out their roster. Also, that's part of the joy of AK - finding a solution to a problem within your limited roster selection. To me, GG doesn't kill Eyjafjalla - she just does things differently and you have to work around that difference to clear the current content.

@@SuzakuBlitz, not sure I totally agree with you. Yes, new players will often have your issue, one or the other. But I’m not a whale, and yet I have 20+ lvl90 6*’s, plus 5/4*’s. I’ve also E2’d every single 6* owned save one, cause I don’t like the last one. Lol Do I have all champs? Not quite. Probably 5-10 of the newer ones, starting with Kal-tsit. (Argh! Lol) There are a lot of players who have simply been playing for a while, and thus have a lot of selection and options, so seeing reviews like this are helpful.

i don't think eyja will be losing relevance due to goldenglow, or in general for a good while at least but i do feel like eyja has been on a slow downward trend ever since the release of surtr. the use cases for eyja over surtr is usually just killing a large target count in situations where surtr's range wouldnt work out (which isn't that common considering that most maps have choke points), or when surtr is already in the squad to fill some other purpose.

Thanks for your explanation, my assumption on how her skills/drones work was way off, for some reason I tought her drones would not retarget inside a skill duration, basically ending the skill prematurely for the respective drone upon explosion. One thing I wonder about for comparsions, tough: wouldn't she benefit a lot more from flat atk buffs (Skalter) than others, since her drones would akt like multi-hit skills? Spinning the idea a bit further, I wonder how a Buff-Army GG S3 would look like, as the negative of targeting trash mobs first would be less important if they get one shot.

She would, yes - low base ATK is theoretically very strong when buffing with flat Skalter, but the thing is I don't have Skalter so I forgot she existed...

One other thing that really hurts her for no compelling reason is that the caster relics in IS2 specify arts damage increases. I know that they probably did it in order to prevent Tomimi with dance shoes from being broken (heaven forbid she get something she's great at) but it still hurts one of Ceobe's few niches.

When you mentioned high end usage I thought you meant high risk cc or some sort. Eyja’s high arts helidrop should make her better in this case as she has been used in many high risk contingency contracts. I don’t know how well goldenglow will do, but her archetype might not seem fitting.

Regarding boss killing on s3; I most if the time a matter of timing (is2 and some Story stages) ... If it doesn't work just use toddifons s1 for a marker and gg chan does the rest (since heavy weight snipers target the boss automatically due to bosses having the biggest weight in most stages)

Her being an Eyjah Killer became true ony my case. She is not my waifu and pulled for her purely because I just want to pull and when I actually started using her She completely replaced Eyjah from my Team. That is when I realize that she is not a situational operator because she is crazy good in any kind of situation.

Nice and informative. It's been a year since, how has your perspective changed regarding eyja vs gg? Specially when eyja already has 10 res ignore with module? I personally found no issue debating their usages since i just use both XD eyja has caster support (but not much). When going in maps blind GG should be a better pick on paper as she could also work as a panic button, but i find myself bringing eyja more often due to being more comfortable with it, either as laneholder S2 or burst with S3

my next videos of this style are fiam horn irene spalter in that order, given release sched. and surrounding hype eben is contending to be in the second worst 6* tier (think chen, nian, siege) in current cn tbh, he has decent boss dps, sure, but it doesn't feel good to use and he's incredibly clunky when it comes towards regular enemies which although might not seem like a big downside at first, in practice really puts most people off from using him honestly I think his best current application is s2 in is2/3 LOL

Tbh, none of the skill in Arknights can truly be categorized as "bosskilling". Also, i feel like you focused on Eyja's weakness too much like her lack of res ignore (she has arts reduction in her S2 that may not help her that much but certainly help other operators) while ignoring the fact that GG still needs a bit of time to reach her max DPS potential. GG is still great tho, highly recommend it if you still don't have good 6* casters. Also also, does the enemy's art resistance apply to both her and her drones?

Absolutes don't exist, skills/units can only be bosskillers to a certain degree and it's up to oneself to draw their own line for what they could consider it to be, to which I quantify Schwarz and friends to be more 'bosskiller' than Eyjafjalla in this case, which I don't think is a hard claim to defend. In that vein, I tried to provide a comparison of Eyja S3 in the most common ground they share, because simply saying "they do different things and thus cannot be compared" is a very unhelpful statement, imo, whilst also acknowledging they have strengths that lie elsewhere besides said common factor. Eyja S2 RES ignore is heavy copium imo, at that point she's significantly weaker than S3 and you might as well use Ifrit or Phys damage, especially given how minuscule it is versus bosses outside of incredibly niche scenarios. If we look at the 6* burst arts units, the RES debuff is frequently brought along for Eyja specifically, given that Surtr and Ifrit can both deal with them to a certain extent as standalone units. I explicitly stated GG retargeting is a big non-selling point for her, given that ramp resets on regular enemies can be annoying when trying to target bosses, along with that consideration in the later part of the video when detailing the merits weighed against Eyja S3, so.... And yes, RES applies to both her and drones (and all sources of arts damage), and so does her RES ignore.

I just got a Goldenglow in IS#2 (big sad lock ending).. I think she is even stronger than Godsenger lolz (I only have aspd relic in that run.. 120 aspd).. holy mackerel powerful top tier! fast skill cycle+global range+ultra powerful damage (when the thingy explodes, aoe dmg is insane).. I will pull for her.. Fiammetta will have to rely on luck lolz.. ADD: btw man.. its not cool to spoil boss stages for future EN events.. should have put spoiler tag.. sad
