I’m not above the average self deprecating comment, but as a foreigner who’s lived in New York City for about 5 years, trust me, BBC and MSNBC, FOX they are busy discussing frivolities on air, they hard ever deal with raw data, they fill up their airtime with financial and political consultants that have very little ground level collaborators but love to speculate, they won’t miss a chance to remark that we just don’t have enough toilets in the developing countries. I’m mexican and trust me, they don’t attempt to inform the way this show does, this show comes across as a little dense in an American context. I don’t mean dense as in stubborn or myopic, even if you disagree with a couple of the interviewed, on the BBC they often just let someone British speak of all things India from an outsiders point of view, they’ll give you a history of curry on the British empire and call it a day after interviewing a fat government official so they can claim something racist about your country being hopeless and backwards. You can can be as self-deprecating as you want , but I assure you, western media these days don’t even try, they are very pleased with their old narratives, they don’t seem feel the need to go digging for any truth.

@@designjesussoto I know what you're talking about. It is not that they do not want to dig into the truth. It more like they are paid to keep the people away from the truth, mostly for corporate interests. As someone who can see all of the media ,i can tell you this : Indian media is much much worse than say BBC. They are complicit in helping the goverment take away attention from the real issues. With all that being said, I find that Guardian scores slightly better than these. Also, the youtube channel democracy now isn't bad. (I don't know who funds them though) Also, the German media is way, way better than the ROW, mostly coz they are funded directly by the people. Check out DW for english. And if you read German like me, then go for Süddeutsche zeitung or Speigel. cheers.

some factual inaccuracy : coral reefs are not in danger because of rise in sea level. rather because of the change in temperate of the sea water as well as acidification of the sea water.

Very well covered. I can't believe we have damaged the ecosystem in which we were born to this extent that the very near future seems dark. Just want to live to the day when either the nature will destroy or we will have resided somewhere else, because the efforts don't seem to be sufficient when countries are still struggling from rapid population growth, poverty, etc.

But who is going to make policy for controlling the over use of these hill areas
@kartik_adhia5 жыл бұрын
its mostly because of climate change (global heating) and not because of over use of hill areas.

@@jmuld1 I know what you mean. I meant to ask you why did you say that? the world has experienced changes in temperature. But they were really really slow. not 1 degree in 100 years!. and that exactly is the problem.
@jmuld15 жыл бұрын
@@kartik_adhiaTry what scientists say about "younger dryas" for temp change.
@kartik_adhia5 жыл бұрын
@@jmuld1 indeed. It was caused because a massive lake of water broke into the sea, stopping water currents. However do note that the change happened only in a certain part of the world and not everywhere. Which means it wasn't even a global event. In conclusion, rapid changes to earth are quite dangerous and lead to extinction events.
