Very helpful video. I will be doing this work in the Ozarks in Arkansas later this year.

What about Ozark hills overtaken with cherry stems? Really good stem count, but not much food. Best way to think those out? Basal bark spray?

Depending on the diameter try to knock them back with fire if they are less than 1” in diameter. If that doesn’t work because they are bigger than 1” do hack & squirt to save on chemical

What applicator is that you're using in the video thumbnail? I've started doing some hack and squirt, but box store spray bottles leave a lot to be desired.

Would that ONE Red Mulberry really have hurt anything? I, myself, have a hard time killing, or cutting, some of my preferred hardwoods, and mast trees. With as much as you were cutting on that slope, I don't see how that one Red Mulberry would have hurt anything. Just saying.

Certainly wouldn't have hurt anything. But it didn't fit the desired composition of that particular site. As Adam mentioned, it would have been more desirable on another site.

No it wouldn’t have but we saved several in the ditches that are found on that slope. Hard to break it all down in one video but plenty were saved elsewhere both on the valley and the slope ditches
