I mean I'm a beginner so that's probably most of the problem but why is this so difficult to play at speed? Lol it took me a week to get through the d chord part 😂😂😂

It's a lot tougher than it looks! If you can play it slow and clean, you're in good shape. Then you can use a metronome to incrementally increase speed or use the playback speed settings on youtube to do the same thing along with the song.
