In most circles Clayman is the best record by In Flames. If you combine the Colony/Clayman releases in 1999 and 2000….those two records kind started the rise and push of the “Gothenburg” sound of Swedish melodic metal. At The Gates and Dark Tranquility were the first….plus you have to give credit to Carcass’ turn to thrash metal with the “Heartwork” album….but this is what made it better. In Flames had to change their sound a bit with “Reroute to Remain”….as the album’s properly named… bands were starting to copy In Flames. So they went another “route” to remain at the forefront of the movement and not get lost in the sea of copy cat bands.

The absolute PEAK of In Flames as a whole, were from The Jester Race up to Reroute to Remain, i have 5 songs for recommendation from each respective record: TJR - Goliaths Disarm their Davids. Whoracle - The Hive Colony - Zombie Inc. Clayman - Satelites and Astronauts RTR - Dawn of a New Day.

Freddy vs Jason is a top soundtrack. Little Nicky is great for Nu Metal, but two of my favourites are Spawn and Judgement Night just for getting bands from different genres to collaborate. Wish we still had soundtracks as good as the 90s and early 00s

Another In Flames banger, they are incredible versatile bands. Check out Metaphor or The Chosen Pessimist, I could never guess it's In Flames if not for vocals. Some peoples may like it, some not, but point is how different sounds they can produce. About song "Trigger". In Flames made this song with collaboration with another legendary Melodeath band called "Soilwork". In Flames make song "Trigger" and Soilwork made song "Rejection Role" and release them at the same time. Band members appeared on each other music videos. Would be cool if you could check them out back to back.

Soilwork should be the biggest metal band in the world. Heavy, accessible, great production and top tier song writing.

Still to this day my favorite album by them, Only for the weak may be overplayed to hell but oh well.
