I've been searching for years. You know that there's not too much variety in youtubers covers, sometimes you end up with the same song covered by so many people, and the fun fact is : those bands covered had so many great songs, that no one cares about. I think youtubers should be mindful of the greatness of artists/musicians (whatever the style) and their huge libraries of hidden gems, that shouldn't be hidden anymore, because of popular songs that could bring thousands of views. For example : the new face of in flames is more covered in youtube than the old melodic death metal that defines the genre. So maybe the reason is the new in flames are more successful commercially ? Or because there's more youtubers in the newest generations for whom youtube and new metal are contemporary things ? Thanks for all the youtubers. 👍🤘

​@@AHighlander He died in 2022, that's why. Edit: Actually the guitarist who died happened to carry the same name, he is the guitarist of the band "Dark Tranquility". The guitarist who wrote this solo, is actually an obscure session guitarist about which we don't have much information.

One thing I noticed...you played this in standard tuning but transposed it right? The song is in drop C, so it would normally look like you're soling in the usual "E" minor positions, but in this case....it looks like you're soling it in C, but retaining standard tuning. Am I correct?

@@doctorevil5752 the songs in C standard not drop C. & i remember reading somewhere that Fredrik wrote & recorded the solo in E.

@@alb6818 Yeah, it's in C standard.....what I'm saying is that Fredrik would be playing it in the same position that a guitar tuned to 440 would (ie: looks like E position). In this video, Ross has transposed it to the C position on a guitar tuned to 440, ie: 6 frets down from where Fredrik played it. Still the most melodic solo in the genre....if not one of the most in all genres.

Yeah man, go for it. I play this in standard tuning btw, but I'm pretty sure the song is in C Standard. Look up Troy Grady's "Cracking the Code" series if you want good right hand technique advice.
