From this list...Pinball Map, Take this Life, Everything's Gone. Very impressed that you learned it all that fast, too. 🤘 (Farvann's lawyers must be good. I don't see a pie chart. 🤔)

I'm a sucker for the entire 'Come Clarity' album. 'I am the Highway' is also pretty sick. And don't forget about the classic 'Pinball Map'.

If it was not for in Flames and At The Gates all "metalcore" subgenre wouldn't exit, in my humble opinion. 😁

I mean there’s 90s metalcore and deathcore stuff that has no relation to melodeath whatsoever.

Yeah I know what you mean. Not all metalcore, but there's definitely was subgenre of metalcore that was very influenced by melodeath. The best type of metalcore if you ask me.

Slaughter of the Soul and its consequences have been a disaster for the metal scene.
@MANGRINDER_band_ Жыл бұрын
@@rudolfantlerofficial fuck no. I love that style of melodeath. Meshuggah has been more of a disaster honestly, I love them but they've influenced a legion of uninspired, boring Drop E tuning bands that all sound robotic and the same. Hate the modern state of djent and how it has infiltrated metalcore. Although there are some good bands.

No one asked, but since we are on the topic: It took me years to get into their music, I first started listening to Whoracle (1997) because it was featured in some book about the 100 greatest heavy metal albums of all time and I wanted to give it a chance. It completely changed my perception of In Flames. I listened to their 90s discography, including Clayman from '00 and fell in love with it. It still took me a couple years more to fully appreciate their more modern sound and albums from the 00s and 2010s. Now my favourite album is probably Sounds of a Playground Fading (2011). All of this to say that I started out by disregarding them completely because I thought they were 'not my style'. Then I found some sick riffs from Whoracle and now I'm at a stage in my life where I've seen the band four times (once before I became a fan) and met the band twice. You never know before you try it!
@COYM_19082 ай бұрын
Seeing them for the fifth time this November, together with Arch Enemy & Soilwork! I'm still considering whether I should get an In Flames tattoo or not. To think that just a little over 10 years ago I thought In Flames was 'just another metalcore band'... I think it's kind of the same thing with olives or dark chocolate, you might hate them as a kid, but as an adult you'll slowly start to crave them more and more. Thank you all for coming to my TED talk.
@EmberGlow_H20 күн бұрын
@COYM_1908 yo i might be late to this but have fun at the show or i hope youve had fun incase times passed! somewhat in the same boat as you were. I heard about them because of their song "walking where the dead ships dwell" and didn't think much of it, but I'm slowly going through their entire discography (as well as a few other melodeath bands) and i really never took time to appreciate how much most of what i listen to came from this band.
