Thank you Anthony. Funny thing is, I am no genius. Anyone can get my accent 🙂 I simply did not speak French until I was at an Intermediate reading & listening level. It meant that I ONLY spoke French when I knew exactly how each sentence is correctly pronounced. My accent then just naturally "copied" the correct French accent,

to be honest with you I was due to learn the grammar first but changed my mind, I'm targeting to understand mostly what I hear from videos that are recorded by natives in 4-5 months without studying grammar but observing. we'll see

no studying grammar worked for me personally, and is also working for my students. the key to making it work is learning through conversations and stories that are UNDERSTANDABLE. this means that if you can only understand 50% or less of what you are reading or listening to, it is too difficult.

 @FrenchCoach exactly agree. I also learned English with this method (which is the most boring way to learn) but now I try to enjoy the process because I've always wanted to learn French, which is only fun. I find French super romantic like a song. Hopefully, this will be my 3rd language, and eventually, I'll start to learn the 4th one..

Hello ! And great work ! I am french and all of your speech is 100% understable and have only a few mistakes. I will say that I have only three "important" mistakes to correct for you, even if it was understable and you definitely can speak with french people :) "Qu'est-ce qu'apprendre" and not "Qu'est-ce que apprenant", "sans savoir" and not "sans sachant", apprenant is when you are doing the action, like "en apprenant ceci", "en jouant", "en sachant que", "sachant que cela existe...", etc... (to memorize this, try to see if you can put the 'en' before. And the word "librerien" doesn't exist but it's "libraire" or "bibliothécaire". But still, you definitely can speak in the street or with french friends, great job ! :) (and really good pronunciation of the french "r" in the words ! I talked with english people that lived for 10 years in France and that didn't reached this accent, really impressive and good !). And also, yes the grammar is definitely not a big thing. I mean, french people are really bound to the language and will try to correct you for some mistakes about grammar, but 50% of french people make mistakes (and big mistakes, like confusing verbs "be" with "have" because its the same sound in some cases (ait, est), even if it has not the same sense, and a loooooot of grammar mistakes, so yes it is not that important, even more if your goal is the social approach with french people x) ) ! Enjoy your days and hope you will find time to visit our country and appreciate the french culture now ! 😃 If you need some help or tips, do not hesitate to message me ! (And sorry if I did some mistakes in english, I use English a lot for my work but I am not fluent 😆) Again, good work ! 😊

thanks for commenting Jordan ! I love to get corrected on my French - it means I can learn something new. Did not know the above points you made. Your English is excellent, I understood everything 😁(I disagree with you, your English looks very fluent to me!). I will be going to France in the coming years 0 doubt. Out of interest, what part of France are you from, and where did you learn English, just in school? 🤔

@@FrenchCoach Hey Rory ! Thanks ahah 😅 Yes, in part in school. I mean, I learned english during like 15 years in school (we have english class that begins at the age of 7 or something like this), but like you said, this is not where I learnt the most. I mean with that many years, I got some tips on verbs and vocabulary, but the big part come from looking at films, videos, streams, ... in english and also in engineering school for the technical part (in computer science we mostly work in english). I'm from Brittany (la Bretagne), a region with really strong bound to his culture (you can hear sometines people from my region saying we are appart from france ahah). It's a really beautiful place, with a lot of landscapes, beaches and medieval and cultural stories. There is the "Festival interceltique" every year, Australia is one of the country participating for its celtic culture also :) But to put it in a nutshel about France, you can visit Paris for all of its art, museums and history in general, but be careful if you only do this city as its clearly not reflecting the France and most important, the french people 😊 There are some cool videos about americans, british and other english-speaking nations talking about France and how they decided to stay to live here but some of them focus to much on Paris 😉 (I would have hoped to have a level of english similar to your french a long time ago so I could have been better today 😝) (And if you want I can answer in french if it's better for you to improve 😀)

@@jordanl.b.360 very cool, the north west is interesting, all those amazing Medieval monuments built similar to the English monuments across La Manche! Very good talking with you, thank you for commenting on my video and supporting my French! Once again, your English is excellent ☺👌

Wow The accent is spot on.the hardest thing for me when attempting to speak french is how to structure the sentences and what words to use.maybe its cause i dont know all the key vocab.should i practice listening to spoken french more?
@FrenchCoach
@FrenchCoach 8 ай бұрын
it's simply because of volume. you haven't read enough French. you haven't listened to enough French. if you do 30 mins a day of good reading and listening for 3 months, anyone can can go from Beginner to Intermediate. How are you currently trying to learn?

@@FrenchCoach well i been learning french at school for a few years so i know the basics and can speak about a range of topics.but far from fluent in any way.Now i been listening to podcasts with transcripts and reading texts online.
@FrenchCoach
@FrenchCoach 8 ай бұрын
@@kiritysiva7463 podcasts with transcripts is good. make sure you pause after each sentence is said and then re-read the French & English transcription - it will give your brain time to understand the phrase. If you're reading texts online, you need to have French audio with them. Otherwise, as a Beginner it will be hard to progress your French.
