Movie title is "Electric Dreams: Impossible Planet" (as mentioned at the bottom of the recap) and MY theory is that the robot / android masterminded the whole thing, including making his human conveniently partially deaf when it first learned the Earth was destroyed AND including those fake bicycle memories when the main character first saw the old lady AND including the final moments of the humans dying on a toxic non-Earth planet. The human brain technically functions only with the help of electricity - electric pulses between neurons - and the robot was somehow able to tap into that, giving his human master these final "Electric Dreams" on an "Impossible Planet"...

I have a couple theories: 1. They both may have been natives of that same planet and was displaced years ago, for some unknown reason and the young man (Norton) couldn’t remember. 2. They could have met in a previous life, though the woman may have been immortal at the time and she fell in love with his grandfather first who she outlived. Either way this movie left a lot of meat on the proverbial bone, but it was satisfactory still🙏💯👍🏽

honestly if the movie doesnt tell then its bad story telling. If the writer leaves it up to the imagination of the audience that means the writer has none.

@@CarlosSpicyweiner-iv8mq 😂Possibly, but who knows. Studios often take liberty of the books that these movies are usually based upon. For we know, what wasn’t disclosed on screen doesn’t mean it wasn’t in the source material and may have been purposely left out due to “budgeting concerns.”

Love this. The whole series was based (loosely) on Phillip K Dick”s short stories. This man had a brilliant vision of the future.
