Thank you for being who you are. I see Dale in Richard, and Richard in Dale. I have followed RCR and Dale since 1979. I love your stories back in the day. I went into the military in 1980 to serve our country. Believe me Mr. Childress, it was MY HONOR to serve for 10 years. 1979 Rookie of the year, and in 1980 a Winston Cup Champion. Dale Earnhardt handled the #3 car in ways that was beyond belief. I have NEVER seen anything like it before. And yes, Dale could “see the air”. Bill France said it all when he said “NASCAR has lost it’s GREATEST DRIVER, we lost Dale Earnhardt.” Through it all Mr. Childress, I feel for you loosing Dale. Y’all were not only just friends, ya all were Brothers. Thank you for your time. God Bless you and your wonderful family Mr. Childress. GOD’S Speed.

@@Joe-1723 no. They are not. Plenty of others built Nascar up to reach its peak. To say it was just them is just sooooo wrong. Also, he misses Dale so much that he had no issues using the number 3 (that should have been retired by Nascar) just to try and make his own relative get a jumpstart in being popular in his career. He had no issues using Dale's number to make money. Scumbag move.

Great interview, I still get a knot in my throat when RC tells the stories of Dale and him . Dale and Gordon had a bond, he helped Gordon to that Championship level. I think Jr. would've been the Jimmie Johnson in the 2000's if Sr. was still with us.
@a1b1c1842 жыл бұрын
DEI was going to be a winning shop just like Hendrick's, Yates, Gibbs or RCR. You know Sr. would not have allowed it to be anything less than that. Sr. was a truly remarkable human that understood racing better than anyone else.

I wholeheartedly believe that if Cecil & Kirk had stayed, there is absolutely no telling the amount of Championships Dale & RCR would have (10 @ least). I believe he would’ve won the Championship in 2001, also, but through all the heartache (mine still hurts & I still get teary eyed & choked up watching videos of him) he WON the GREATEST championship of them all (HEAVEN)🙏🏻🏁 Love y’all RC & good luck RCR!!!!

The thing jeff Gordon and Dale had was unique. The age difference but acts like they the same age. You dont really see that kind of friendly rivalry anymore. Its either total hatred between 2 drivers or nothing. The main difference between the 90’s nascar and nascar today, its dale. He was good from with a lot of people.

Good video just wish RC would've put in a better effort to give Harvick the equipment needed to win championships in instead of taking as many of the resources he did away to help his grandsons rise through the ranks as fast as they did. His entire organization would be better today had he done that and both Austin and Ty would be much better drivers.

Once when JD McDuffie wasn't fast enough to make the field - Dale and Richard put a motor in his car and he made the field... Bill France once said - always make it affordable for the working man to come watch - now there are no more JD's, no more Dave Marcus, no more Wilkesboro no Rockingham - and no Dale Earnhardt

Mr. Richard Childress is a gentleman, a class act and I have a ton of respect for him. In Daytona in 1997, I was at the Adams Mark hotel where Dale Sr. was speaking to a room full of GM executives and I managed to "find" my way up to the floor where he was, hoping for an autograph on a special hat...it was there that I met Richard Childress for the first time. I looked at him and he looked at me, we both knew I wasn't supposed to be there, but he greeted me with a hand shake and a smile. A southern gentleman for sure. Bless you sir.
