I work inhouse for a gaming company but I outsource quite a bit of work out to agencies. I have probably worked with a dozen agencies in the past 10 years and the best advice I would have for agencies to win and retain clients is pretty simple - make sure to be 100% honest and transparent and to listen to and actually incorporate feedback. I've been working with the same agency now for several years and they don't necessarily do anything that much different or better than other agencies I have worked with but I know that I can trust them to do a good job consistently and not try and pull some BS the moment they think I'm not monitoring them - I've worked with agencies in the past who seem to think that inhouse have no idea what we are doing or that we can't see when they are taking the piss, that is the way to get terminated immediately! :D If you make my job easier and I don't have to waste more time monitoring or micromanaging you then there usually isn't a lot of reason for me to look for a new agency

Agreed. I think it’s important to take 100 percent of the risk in the beginning. You learn and learn again.
