this is objectophilia, these people are not interested in some kind of objects, they are only attracted to a one spesific thing. objectophilic people are also animist (which means they think objects have souls too) so this person is actualy not that weird, he is not into cars, he just loves this object which happens to be a car. he loves it and even tho its seems unusual, its hurtless. and now, the thing he has maybe ruined his life. TLC basically made him seem like a creep and people laughed at him and maybe made hurtfull comments on him. even tho, TLC makes themself looks like they are edcuating other people, they ruin some peoples lives

Thank you!!! I was looking for a comment that is actually respectful and explains his objectophilia and how meaningful this relationship is to him. Shame on TLC for exploiting him like that! In Germany we have this TV program Domian live and it´s just this one guy who does this hour long show in the middle of the night and people can just call in - so they are not exposed - and talk about anything (or a theme he gave for the show). And he is always extremely restpectful since he actually wants to help and give a platform to people and it makes a difference. Him talking to people with objectophilia really stood out for me since this is really something most people can´t seem to wrap their head around (I dunno people doing the weirdest dirtiest stuff to each other seems to be easier to understand) and he gave them a voice and let them explain without asking to exploit intimacy on screen.
