have always been amazed how Derek & Jimmy seem to make it look effortless in anything they play. Jimmy Herring is one of the most underrated jammers i know of .. thank you

Derek must be allowing Duane to play his guitar, I've never heard anyone capture the spirit of the Allman Brothers like this. Incredible bass & Hammond solos. I've never heard Jimmy before, WOW! It's near impossible to sound like Dicky Betts, never heard anyone do this and be them self at the same time. No note for note copy to create the feel, just jammin with the pure spirit of this song! Then off into the clouds for the trumpet solo, this is off the charts, nobody does this stuff anymore!!

Not up on all the Allman trivia here. Have no clue who Jimmie Herring is. But worked as a backup wanker setting them up in late 60's or so in the Fla and thereabouts. This video here, catches some of the live spark that was that Allman band. In its day it was hypnotic and amazing to audiences. Later saw Carlos Santana's band at the Fill West before their new, first LP. Really remember thinking how similar their percussion section and shear power was. But then, in those days there were probably only 25 bands that people followed. Big fan of TTB and their collective work.

In the drum/trumpet segment, do I hear traces of Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew?
