Sadly, diseases fail to recognise the importance of youth and it rarely cares for the talent or whatever admiration it's victim has accrued. I lost my sister to breast cancer in 2015 and I will continue to have her in my memories and I know Patricia will be remembered too..

Younger women diagnosed with breast cancer have a higher mortality rate than middle aged women. This is because if a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer at a younger age it is more likely a genetically caused cancer which tend to be more aggressive and less responsive to treatments. Younger women die of breast cancer at about the same rate as elderly women. She was so beautiful and talented.

I'm crying now as I sit in my computer room watching this devastatingly sad video. 😭I first saw Patricia singing in that beautiful blue dress in the talent show when she was 12 years old. I cried then as I am now. I was 67 years old then and I have kept track of her music and videos ever since. I had my 80th birthday on 9/7 three weeks before Patka left us and it was on Oct. 2 when I first saw the terrible news. 😢 In America we have a saying; 'the good die young' and that was never more true than on Oct. 1. This is a fitting tribute to a beautiful and wonderfully talented person. The past few days have been very emotional - I first saw a video showing Patricia’s wedding which made me so happy as I thought it was a signal of her recovery as I couldn’t read the non-English text and commentary. It lifted me. Then the KZbin algorithms did their thing and started presenting me videos that were frankly crushing. For a brief time I was thinking again, selfishly, how I could look forward to enjoying Patricia’s career resume its unstoppable rise to great heights, but it wasn’t to be. We’re often told that a way to deal with such emotions is to focus on celebrating the life that has passed. I will try my best. My thoughts are with those truly close to Patricia for their loss.

I just learned of Patricia's passing this morning. I am on a bicycle tour, camped in the desert in the US. At about 1700 in Slovakia I played her singing "O Mio Babino Caro" from when she was a child. A songbird flew over to a bush next to me and started singing along. Somehow that seemed fitting. Once upon a time in the West, a favorite movie of mine, that's how I found and fell in love with this Angel on Earth. The most sublime voice I have ever or will hear. I play her video singing that song in the beauty pagent style. I play for classroom of history students. I wasn't afraid to shed tear at the beauty of her voice and presence, as I do as I write this and listen to her voice now. It was a bucket list agenda to catch her in concert somewhere. I like many of you, were shocked of this angel being requsistioned to heaven so soon. I guess God missed her so much he had to bring her back home to heaven. My favorite opera singer, my only Opera singer. Thanks Patricia for touching my heart and soul through your Angelic voice, presence & music.

I just discovered Patricia today while teaching my grade 6 students about opera, and then shortly thereafter learned that she had passed away only last month! She was so talented, and I'm incredibly sad for her husband and family. May she rest in peace.

Habe heute erst von ihrem Tod erfahren und bin geschockt, wie eine so junge Frau am Anfang ihrer großartigen Karriere einfach vom Krebs dahingerafft wird. The young lady Patricia - what a blooming life - her great singing comes from heart and brings joy. Patricia had shared us this message: "... and maybe in a year I will be back on a stage and will be able to sing again... However, most of all, I would like to thank you for your support ... Thank You!" And now she never ever will sing even a single tone ... the thought of it still brings tears to my eyes. My mother, a great opera connoisseur, died on April 2nd this year of cancer. For her funeral, my brothers and I were picking up a little note our mother had written. It said Laudate Dominum. We searched through all the versions one could find in the internet and from recordings, cds and digital including those of the biggest names in the industry. Then we found a video of Patricia singing in a church. It was badly recorded, with too much echo and with noise from the audience. But however bad the surrounding, we knew we had to take Patricia’s version. This young woman - so beautiful and with her natural grace and charme singing Laudate Dominum with so much sensitivity and with a voice like an angel. It was very moving and we knew our mother would have loved it as much as we did. Today I learned that Patricia passed away and we are totally shocked and saddened. As well from cancer, this horrible disease and at such a young age. My brothers and I will always remember her and be grateful for accompanying us on the hardest farewell of our lives. May you both sit together in heaven now. Rest in peace, dear Patricia!
