Just saw the Tunes and Chat show at Weston - I have been a fan since the 70s and saw Francis and Quo open at Live Aid in front of a massive worldwide audience. He still has it - in fact he makes the performance look effortless and he obviously still enjoys playing the old stuff with Andy Brook - who is probably younger than all of the songs. What you also get is a brilliant comedic performance - Francis is naturally funny and uplifiting. The audience loves him and he loves them right back!

Saw the same show, he came over as a tidy chap, very entertaining and his guitar playing wasn't too bad. Playhouse Rock.

The first single I ever bought, correct me if I'm wrong, but on the B side was a tune called " umleitung", never knew what it meant of course! Not many years later, as an Army driver, in Germany , the roadsign "umleitung" was a familiar sight, meaning "diversion".

I went to the Shanklin event earlier in the year. I left after the end thinking "Hang on a minute, we've just all sang "Caroline" with the guy who wrote it. Not to mention "Rockin" which they used to open "Live Aid". Did that just happen?". Totally awesome chap and an amazing evening. Looking forward to the next one.

Amazing! I would never darken the door of a modern Quo gig but I will try to get a ticket to see Frances on this tour. He is an Icon and does not need to keep Quo alive with a rotation of new blood! HE is the main attraction, HE is NOW the only attraction!
@murraydean23719 ай бұрын
Rotation of new blood?? Andy Bown and Rhino Edwards have both been part of the band for longer than both Nuff and Spud, Drummers in many bands change from time to time and Richie Malone joined with the full blessing of Rick when he was unwell. Bands evolve and Quo is mo different, they are still the best live band out there

This song is more special to me than I could ever attempt to explain in a few words here. My friend Stef and I, we had your music as an antidote to the effects of cancer treatment. This song was the last he sent me, when for the last time he returned home, in a wheelchair. Thank you, Francis.
@platosocrates232 Жыл бұрын
Now that is for me the same kind of feeling. I always loved the blues songs and try to play them as a kid. In my Chair became a favorite song as I got an accident 22 years ago. Spinalcord injury, and became a wheelchair user. But still play and sing this song with a smile. Thanks Francis. I not only loved his playing style, but also his recognizable voice. And admit, in the later live shows his voice couldn't reach all the higher notes, but now he did a great job and was not on auto pilot.

Yes l can honestly say l enjoyed that as much as listening to the original 45 which was the first single of theirs l purchased even though l was following their progression since Matchsticks Peter Greens Fleetwood mac took most of my available spending money on vinyl. Incidentally Quos version of Peters Lazy Poker Blues is an all time favourite still play it regularly when l need a lift in the old spirits.
