I'm about to be twenty, too, and I've never been in love or even had a boyfriend. I often regret not having a teenage love but at the same time, I'm GLAD I haven't. I have actually loved being single this entire time, and have worked so hard on my academic career and my mental health. I feel like I'm so behind though when it comes to dating experience! Everyone I know is suddenly dating and getting into relationships and I'm just here, not getting into anything. I wanted a boyfriend soo badly about a year ago and dated a bit, but I hated it. I realised that you cannot search for it, you have to be content in yourself, and it'll happen when it's meant to. Honestly, enjoy being single, girl! There are so many perks to it! Our world gears us up for monogamous relationships (not to mention hetero ones, too) when really, there are friendships to be made and other relationships that are just as fulfilling and important

hey! i’m 21 and just got into my first relationship. don’t rush it!! i truly believe you find your person when it’s meant to be and when you’re ready. i also think it’s a huge help to be single through your teens, you learn a LOT and you truly become so self aware & learn self love. be confident, work on yourself, stay positive and they’ll come when you least expect it. i know it sounds cliche but truly it’s what happens. don’t search for it!! you’ll only wind up with the wrong people

Love exactly same position over here about to be 22, never been in a relationship or kissed anyone and you know what I agree I'm glad I didn't have that young teen romance cause that just means that the first one will be extremely special because I will be mature, know what I want and capable and have a healthy mind and hopefully a healthy relationship with myself

Being 19 and turning 20 and looking around seeing everyone else living life differently is so relatable. I turn 20 in 6 days and I’m complexity out of touch with reality. Some of my friends are married, or pregnant, engaged, off away at college, graduating college, getting into relationships, creating their own businesses. Then there’s me, just starting college (I took a long gap year), working a lot, pretty lonely, single, and have no goals or hobbies. I have no idea what to do with my life. It is so hard sometimes to not beat myself up or let myself get into a depressive episode and completely shut down. Doing life is so strange!

Im 18 and I’ve realized the love I went through wasn’t real love. It was relationships built on lust and built on the idea of what could be. Im finally actually okay being single. The right person will be in my life at the right time. Im working on myself and I want the right person to be able to have the best version of me. Do I get sad that I’m single , yes ofc. But it just makes me more excited for the person I’m supposed to love for the rest of my life :)

I had the exact same experience at 18. I had just started uni and broken up with my boyfriend of one and a half years who I had always thought about as a great first love. Only now, over two years later I realised I never truly loved him. I just loved the idea of being in love with this person and I‘m pretty sure deep down he has the same feelings (although he would never say that). I‘m in a great relationship now and have learned what love really is supposed to be like. I hope you’ll find your person too once you’re ready

Avrey is so right. You learn so much from break ups, especially those first ones. The biggest lesson so understanding how you want to be treated and what a healthy relationship should look like. Being single is also such a blessing, especially during this age, you really learn and understand yourself, and love yourself. It's BS to think you need to be in a relationship to be happy. *and then suddenly, you have bills to pay* yeah , adult relationships hit different And although my first love as a teen was so DRAMATIC and quite toxic honestly, I learned so much and there was a carefree aspect to it ✨
@emilyb.20182 жыл бұрын
i promise you that there is much better out there than falling in love as a teenager, and that is falling in love as an adult. i cherish my past/first relationships but the relationships i've had in my early twenties are insanely better. i've become more 'me', meeting people who have become more themselves. people learn through their first relationships to be the best possible partner later on in life (imo), what they like/dislike in a relationship. communication improves so damn much. at some point you don't compare anything to the firsts, not because they were too good but because what you have now (or can have!) is soooooo much better. i'm in my fourth relationship now and everytime, i'm surprised by how much better/stronger the love is, how much more fitted for me the new person is, etc. and that is a constant that remains after the breakups too. i may have negative thoughts on the ex-person/relationship, but i always see them as.. just better. great things will come to you !!

I’ve been with my boyfriend for coming up on 3 years (Dec 27th) we met when I was 14. We were forced to take a break in may we were separated till about July. I’ll be honest it was both very beneficial and somewhat negative. I see him in a totally new light and feel like I know myself our relationship and him in a new way. I know I’m a lot younger than you and my story is different but before the break I was so nervous and had so many questions about my future and if we were supposed to be together forever and while it was a short break I realized he was my everything and so loved the person I was with him more than when I was alone and when I came back he was waiting open arms and now we understand and respect each other more than we ever did before . I’m not saying blow up your relationship but if you feel like you’re missing something because of it than I think you should pick what makes you feel like you’re the most happy and truly seeing and experiencing everything. I’m not saying it won’t be difficult nothing is ever easy but you have time and if he’s the one you’re truly supposed to be with y’all will come back to each other. i also was making a lot of soups that tasted like nothing and I found the best way to give it more flavor is to really cook the vegetables down with a lot of seasoning, some butter and heaps of garlic before adding the water and bouillon (i finally made a good pumpkin soup last week for the first time lmfao) try adding fresh juice from orange and a bit of ginger and if you have an inversion blender you can add a bit of milk or coconut cream to make it creamier, but also don’t listen to me bc i’m a shit cook xx

I’m 22 and my ex boyfriend & I broke up after 6 years together, 2.5 months ago. It gets easier but at the same time, the wounds still feel so fresh. Heartbreak is so hard. wouldn’t take our time back for the world, but it’s also hard to know what to do with myself sometimes now because we got together so young (16 in high school.) and like you said, being in your 20’s is such a confusing time & everyone is on their own path. 2022 will be about self discovery ❤️🩹🤍

I'm going through pretty much the SAME thing as you, being 19 but soon 20 in May as well has opened so many other weird but amazing doors to actually just be my own person apart from a relationship

i am now 23 and turning 24 soon, i first met my ex when i was 17 and stayed together with him until i as 20. i think breaking up with him was the best decision i ever made in order for me to grow up. he was meant to stay in my teenage years. i soon met "the one" when i was 22, when i've matured up.

I was pretty popular with boys in high school, but I was so terrified of not passing my subjects, I had to just focus on my studies. I was really scared I would have to repeat a year, and never graduate...Then, I got so used to just focusing on studies, I kind of neglected my dating life until my thirties, and by that time, there were very few single men...I'm in my forties now, and I can see now that it was obviously my destiny to always be single...Some things, you just can't plan for, especially if it involves another person. I'm happy just focusing on my hobbies like online fashion, beauty and gardening. :) I think that's the key to being happy in life, focusing on the little things that give you joy, and not worrying too much about everything else.

I‘m 18 and I have been single my entire life. And tbh i dont feel the need to be in a relationship. I feel like everyone around me expects me to be in a relationship oh at least be interested in someone, but im just not and sometimes that makes me feel really out of place.

me and my boyfriend, who i was with since i was 16 (i’m 18 now) broke up about 2 months ago and i’m trying to heal and it feels good to have a support system and have them be understanding about what i’m going through. i know things happen for a reason and even though it hurts this will make me grow as a person

I've been watching you since your first KZbin video. At that time I was around 20, lost and clueless of where life was taking me. I was at the worst state of mind. I was super depressed. To top that off, st was at my highest weight and felt horrible. I was still living with my parents and had no job. I guess growing was something i feared because i was comparing myself with my highschool friends and how life was going so well for them. I eventually start to work on myself, internally and externally. Went back to school. Lost some weight. But most importantly, learned to love myself. It's easier said than done. But self love is a key to moving on, trying new stuff and coming out of comfort zone. Self love is the confidence you have even when life isn't going the way we want. Because we know it's only temporary. With that being said I am now 27 and married to my best friend. But i wouldn't be where I am if it were not for the self love I have. Sending positive vibes out there for you.
