One of Kenneth Downie's best Salvation Army pieces. I agree, a more sympathetic rendition is required to make the words come alive.! I have played this many times with my SA band. It never fails to bless me.

This is a contest band not a corps band so why expect the words to hold deep meaning? I thought it was fine just the way it was.

That Downie chord three from the end is sheer magic. A more sympathetic rendering would be helpful here, Cory just play the whole wonderful piece.
