I ❤ love your videos, but today especially. I’m 56 years old, been wearing it since I was 12. I often wear Smokey eyes to work, I work in a factory, with safety glasses. I feel like my eyes totally disappear, so I love a smokey eye to make them pop. I’m probably going to be 95 with a full face. I gave up caring what people think when I hit my mid 40’s. It’s so freeing, so I’m so glad you brought this up. I want everyone to have that feeling at the age they are now. If its not hurting anyone, then ‘You do you Boo’

I'm turning 45 in a couple of weeks and I just told my daughter yesterday that the older I get the more I say F it. Eyeshadow is my favorite because that's where the art really comes in. If I want to wear a glittery smokey eye to go buy dog food I wear that smokey eye.

I'm 59 yrs old and have a shaved topped knot hair cut. The best part is the top knot thats purple and the shave is black. I wear bright funky makeup and goth jewelry. I am ME!! Well, I actually saw Alexandra Anele do it first, and she continues to try all kinds of combos! She mixes foundation, blush, bronzer, eyeshadow, and "custom" spot concealer. So I'd name it the Alex/Nikki mix!

I definitely embrace the “wear the makeup that makes you happy”. I’m a nurse and I do a different look every day. It’s my dopamine hit for the day to decide what I’m gonna do with my makeup. Some days it’s a smoky eye or a shimmer green and some it’s “no makeup” makeup. I enjoy trying different looks and work is the place I go to the most😂

I so appreciate your comments about overconsumption. I remember when I was in my 20s, (back in the early 90s lol) the concept of having multiple options of the same make up category in my collection would never have occurred to me. I had one foundation, one blush, one mascara, etc. I remember swiping my blush to get the very last bit of powder on the brush and being bummed when it was out because it was a big expense. Now I truly over consume and it is a waste. It became an escape for me and led to financial issues. I need to continue to find joy in what I have.

I love this video! I m 76 yrs old and if I want to wear glitter liner, I am going to do that. Matter of fact I recently went to Ulta and bought every color glitter eyeliner color they have including bronze eyeliner. Hi Nikki, I love how you create different formats. I enjoy all of them. Thank you! For me: In: maintaining balance in myself/life. Whole body skin care, not just my face. What I love the most about playing with makeup is self expression. So when you said you wore glitter for brunch (Happy Birthday again) that made me so happy because I wear colorful and pastel eye makeup in the spring/summer and sparkly looks from basically Thanksgiving on - no matter where I’m going! I’m a creative person and it makes me so happy. I could care less what other people think. I’ve had time to get there, lol. Small joy is everything. Life *IS* too short. Regarding makeup, I follow my OWN makeup rules. Also, years ago I began eliminating people from my life that negatively affected me, even relatives. One of the best things I have ever done. My In: creating a sleep routine. I have ADD so good sleep can be elusive. I've started writing down my thoughts and accomplishments just before bed to release them from my brain. I turn off my phone at least 30 minutes prior and I've started reading before bed again. I also got myself a great sleep mask since I always seem to pick up even the slightest glimmer of light in our room. 😊

I love short red nails- looks awesome! Bobbi Brown said she saw Yasmin Le Bon on a shoot with no make up, jeans and a t-shirt- but with short red nails. I forget exactly what she said, but in effect she said from then on she had short nails with red polish. My nails are always short- I just cannot work with any length past my fingertips, and I never used polish other than clear because my nails are short. Hearing Bobbi Brown say that, made me think- you know what, I can wear anything I want, I don't need longer nails to do that. From that time on I started wearing whatever polish I wanted and it's one of those things that makes me feel put together, no matter what else.

Happy New Year birthday, Nikki! My number one In this year is regaining my health. I let it slide these last 3 yrs, but 2024 was the worst. This year I'm getting back to me. I also want my makeup to reflect my healthy glow so no more heavy full coverage foundation, but light just cover the flaws foundation/skin tints. I do have blush/bronzer blindness so I've got to work on that! My biggest Out is to stop trying to look 20 years younger through makeup and concentrate on doing it through skincare. At 69, I'm too old to try and look 50 with makeup. I want a healthy glow because of diet, exercise, and great skincare. BTW, short nails are the trend for 2025 do you might want to rethink what you do at your next mani!😄

To go with not downplaying your successes and achievements, one of my In’s for 2025 that I’ve been working on in 2024 is learning to celebrate myself and not needing to have others celebrate me in order to feel good. So not waiting to enjoy the moment and not feeling like before I can celebrate I have to make an announcement or post something on social media that brings people in. My biggest out for 2025 will be looking to the comments section to feel validation or like I belong to a community. As hard as it will be, I’m going to try and not keep checking to see if the people including the creator replied to or liked my comment.

I will be 46 in March , so I will accept this challenge and work on how I treat myself when applying my foundation and word things differently so I can stop saying, I hate my face. It just means I’m getting wrinkles and I notice them now. That’s it that’s all. It’s okay. Also in todays live. I learned a new technique with your N17 , I will definitely buff using both sides and see if that helps the foundation lay down better. Also less is more❤❤ Uhh , just a rough one with aging. For me. Happy New Year, Nikki and fellow beauties! As a fellow January Cappy, I am all about goals and self-improvement. I have that helping gene and tend to put others before myself, especially as a mother. My kids are now in their mid-20s. I am working on making self-care a priority for family and work. If I don't take care of myself, I can't take care of others. I love the long content of this video. I feel like I vibe with you this way, Nikki. Growing up, I was always different and embraced following the beat of a different drummer, as Henry David Thoreau spoke about. I tended to be true to myself, even if I was made fun of for being shy, etc. I liked having my own style vs. following trends even if they weren't for me. I do have an artistic side and like to follow that, exploring new ideas that inspire, as you spoke of. I have had to change careers multiple times in my life. I'm a writer/editor. In 2024 I made a leap of faith from my last job to my current one, and it was the best decision. I'm turning 62 on January 18th. It's never too late!

"Wear the makeup that makes you happy regardless of the situation." THIS! At this stage in my life, I rarely, rarely go out anywhere in the evenings (unless you count ballgames). So instead, I often push my daytime makeup further than is traditionally "correct". But it makes me happy and is acceptable with my company's dress code. I've been feeling self-conscious about this because influencers call these "night time" looks. No more. I will wear what makes me happy and confident without worrying about what's "normal".

Decluttered and organized my makeup yesterday as well as washed all my brushes.... ready to go back to work after Christmas break. I'm 57 yrs old....I do me and haven't really followed any trends as I've seen too many LOL! I have always worn brown mascara and love the Elf xtender. I guess I was ahead of the brown mascara trend. Happy New year!

For the last couple years now I've been an absolute party girl when it comes to celebrating anything good happening! Don't diminish anything! As an example, a small win for me could be something so infinitesimally micro as opening the mail which has stacked up for multiple days/weeks. I still give myself a little callout/treat! 💯🎁💯 Your merch launch, to most of us I believe, was HUGE. Don't diminish anything! You developed products with Lisa J and then went FURTHER and got your and Mitch's OWN line of products, figured out shipping and advertised/marketed the products yourselves, on multiple platforms. That's ginormous! While still working full time and maintaining your marriage and family ties too. 🌹🌹🌹🌹 You deserve ALL the flowers 🌹🌹🌹🌹 P.S. I'm so glad you're 'long-winded' because most of my life is a run-on sentence. 😜🤣

My Dad passed away last year and my Mom started hospice before Xmas and is not doing well. I find your videos so inspiring. Not just makeup but other subjects that mean something to me. I became so overwhelmed with too much coming at me. I went on a social media purge recently & I feel so much better! N14 and N16 are my hero brushes. I use N14 for concealer, powder or even shadow. I use the N16 for shadow. Great brushes! Those 2 + The BK Angie angled blush brush are so good!!

Awe, I love this. I have been trying to wear less makeup due to my age. I decided one day to wear glitter eyeshadow and plum eyeliner.... I felt so much better! I didn't realize I missed it so much! Yes, I am back to wearing makeup that makes me happy! ❤

I'm so glad I watched this video today. Amen to everything you said! Yeah I never jump on any trend, I just do what I think is flattering on me, the rest is just noise. I like doing a full face every day, even if I'm just going to the grocery store. I live in WA so most ppl here dress as if they were about to go on a hike/ wear no make up. But I do it regardless, no particular reason, it makes me feel good and the process of doing my skincare/ make up is sooo therapeutic! ❤
