Join me on my latest gold prospecting journey. I leave the prosperous water of my usual gold bearing river in search of bigger better gold! I am in search of a nugget and to find the nugget sniping underwater. With a tent, water and food- i set out on an overnight backpack camping mission to push deeper into the unknown and try my luck and finding more remote untouched deposits.

Man it was a slog. Just want to get a bit more remote and have a bit more adventure. I’ll get back on the gold soon- really enjoyed pushing my body anyway and seeing spots most human eyes have never seen

I was just looking at the green bible and found a couple more hot spots that could be good and worth a look before the cold sets in, not unlike the area you looked in, rough terrain but now have the means to get there a lot easier, a scanoe. I gotta take it a lot easier now as I have done my knee in and walking on that slippery granite could land you in a world of hurt. That is one creek to strike off and not being profitable, so go to the next. Wish I was 20yrs younger I would be back out there roughing it up again. I have a family friend that owns property down along the R River and will contacting one of these days, still plenty of Au out there. Cheers

Cool adventure mate. Bad luck on the gold but you know where it isn’t now. I have a 2nd hand pack I got off marketplace for $25. Kathmandu 80L h2o. Agree with have a decent sleeping mat. Mine is sea to summit but heavier than yours. Self inflating R4.3 or something 75mm thick. Sooo comfy even on your side & warm too. Gay telescopic rod 🤣. Mine is a Kmart one for cheap as. Threw the reel away & put a better one on. Have it in a small backpack in the work ute(just in case). Cheers for posting up 🥳🍻

@Anashadk nah they never get it all, and allot of knowledge was lost or people were shot before going back to clean out the smaller creeks. Trust me, there’s more to come! The method I’m using you find all the stuff they miss and all you need is one big crack full and your on!

@@FollowingABrokenCompass Me, I dont hunt gold, so I only have thoughts that are based on uneducated evaluations of the real situation. I have always thought that if a person looks at the biggest producing areas (historical), and follow both modern and ancient waterways out away from the land, the first 100 meters of depth (given that the ocean level has increased 100m) will reveal deposits that man has never seen.

All I do is hit the rivers below the hills I know hold gold and it works pretty much the same way- I like your philosophy but practically same principles. All this area is along way about sea levels in aus

nice job pushing past the comfort for the potential of greatness! A buddy and I started sniping last year here in US and boy we beat ourselves up and came home empty handed many times. It was always a good adventure though. Keep the great work!

@FollowingABrokenCompass I sure did. My first trip I found gold(third trip out) I spent 5 hrs not finding anything. Almost gave up and but didn't. I moved up a little further and found a nice gold pocket with almost 2 grams. What a rush!

Sure did mate- I’m about 6 months behind in adventures but, some bowhunting from last year coming next week chasing pigs and Rusa- then heading to artic circle ice fishing, some more sniping and crystals and then we will be up to the rut! The rut was one of the most mental trips of my lifetime I can’t wait to share it, I put stuff on my Instagram a bit so you’ll see snippets there if your interested

I’d say so, pretty funny that any of the rivers I can drive too I seem to do better. But I suppose they made roads to the better spots. I’m gunna find a gully somewhere loaded- got a few good ones coming up where I did pretty good it’s getting closer. Amazing country

Yeah mate, got a program I use for this. I did just take the comment off as we can’t spoon feed the new starters that much hahaha. But yeah I use similar data sets and see what they got- funny thing is allot of data never made it. I have found gold in mountain ranges where it’s not even marked on any maps. I’m hoping that using snipping I find a deposit this year that no one has really got into or in the last 100 years anyway

Love the content mate, what maps/ tools do you use to find these places?
@FollowingABrokenCompass
@FollowingABrokenCompass 3 ай бұрын
There’s allot of online apps and maps. Here in Australia they differentiate between states. All mining holes and drill logs are publically available, but yeah as I said in this video. Just cause there is no data doesn’t mean there isn’t gold. Some reefs are too small for big companies, and some were found and people never told anyone. I do allot of work in the popular gold regions but I also love the unknown explore!

imagine some guy goes much further in just thongs and even barefoot. He says it's more natural and when you are from the bush you have no fear of it. A few incy winky spiders went up the water spout.
