With jet lag hitting me hard, I woke up at 5:30am and headed outside in the pitch black morning here in Greece. My goal was to get up the hills and see the sunrise from the Acropolis. Join me on an early morning adventure here in Athens.

To me,the Acropolis is a magical place!!! ! When I walked up to it, I felt like sparks went through. my body!!! They say when you walk into the middle of the Parthenon, make a wish because this was the temple of the goddess, Athena!! You will feel a wind blow through at that time!! Thank you Johnny for bringing us there ,today!!! It brings back many memories!! If you have time while in Athens, take a day crude to the island of , Hydra !!! Another beautiful place!!

Johnny, great advise, Don't follow your Dreams, No Follow your Dreams, wait, Don't Follow your Dreams...a few moments later.. Guys, follow your dreams! Next time you get to the gates and their not open, Just say, "Google maps said I could walk through here and see the Sunrise! Why you being a dick about it, I can see the other side right there .No, I am not going to walk around, just letting me go thru?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Funny how hard work pays off in the end and you get to see the Sunrise! 👍👍

I remember as a kid getting up for school in winter- 30 below outside the woodstove was out in the house had to melt snow for water and put on a frozen shirt and pants that were suppose to dry next to the wood stove . Getting up at 4 am to milk cows in winter is rough but really if you do it long enough you get used to it now the cold doesn't even bother me the house stays at about 40 degrees through the night in winter.

Worked at a golf course as a greenskeeper for 4-5 years. Had to be there at 5 am or 4:30 as the days got longer. It was miserable getting up that early but still kind of miss the job (despite relativley shit pay) for the tranquil peace and beauty as the sun came up. Also most of my "hard" work was done by 6:30-7am most days.

I used to teach high school near St. Louis (Ferguson area). After lunch the kids are ready to go home and not much gets done. We started at 7:30 am and that's when most of the learning takes place. Everybody talks about making schools start later in the day, but I would disagree. Some days I would get up at 4:30 am and I didn't like it, but I mostly decided to get used to it, and I usually went to bed before 9:00 pm. I did that for 25 years. I get a 70K annual pension now.

The world is unfairly biased against night owls. Some people work much better later in the day. Not everyone can be a clone of you. Does it matter when the work is done - so long as it is done?
@curiousnomadic
@curiousnomadic Ай бұрын
You must have never been a teenager. It's just not true that ANY learning gets done at 7:30. You said not much gets done. Our minds are most active from 2 until 5. It is when atheletes peform the best. When we are teenagers our minds and bodies are growing and we need at least 9 hours of sleep per day but also to be able to experience the peacefulness of the night. If you start kids too early they get no breakfast (which was nearly every day for me) and in many cases they don't eat until 4 when they return home leading to obesity. My circadian rhythm is damaged to this day because of those complete idiots forcing us to get up at an inhumane time.

Johhny, I have to set my alarm at 04.15 every morning to get to work. It just feels like I'm grinding at a place where my presence is not even really wanted, just a necessity for my employer. Working a regular job sucks, every day when I come home I'm completely exhausted at the point where I can't even hold a conversation. I literally stare at a wall until I fall asleep. The world worships at the altar of morning people. If you work the evening or night shift in a hospital, forget it, you're not as important as the people that are there when no one is needed. It's a weird collective psychological phenomena where people act worse as the day goes on.
