Thank you for reminding the World that Lefcadio was the Grimm Brothers of Japanese Folkoric tales, I have only seen in .. yes- "Usagi Yojimbo". Please, never scoff at someone who enters what ee'er road into something you like too. You have a fellow traveler, why make enemies on the Tokkaido road?

Superb. Much harder to create a good short film than a long one. Thank you so much.

I really enjoyed this video and the accompanying music matched it beautifully. Thank you for making it! What is the origin of the artists of this music? It sounds like it has a combination of Irish and Japanese influence.

Thanks for comment. The music comes from an album called Eire Japan, featuring Irish musicians Paddy Keenan on uilleann pipes and Frankie Gavin on fiddle, with Japanese musicians Junji Shirota on banjo & guitar and Mareka Naito on fiddle. A real Irish-Japanese fusion.

Very well made video, Tony. Good idea to show his old haunts in Japan. I hadn't realised he formally adopted Buddhism. A fascinating figure.

I didn't realize Hearn was so connected to Ireland. I knew of him as a child of Greek and British parents. Nice to understand more about his life. I think Glimpses of An Unfamiliar Japan has some of the best descriptive writing in literature. Reading this book made me sense his deep passion for the Japanese and the Japanese culture.

Thanks for this. Great vid. Discovered Hearn a year ago. I wish he wrote even more on Japan and other places.
