Today was an unbelievable day while metal detecting a new area where a civil war battle happened. I uncover a remarkable find and I'm very happy to save these from further decay. Thanks for watching!!

Thanks Mike, watch you and Chigg all the time. Such bitter - sweet. The war equipment of one dead soldier and the wonder of how his demise happened and having his story told. This led me to closing my eyes and watching the battle as it happened. This soldier now did not die alone as we witness history.

Theres an old treasure legend near where i live that talks about a cache of arms and other relics found along an old trail called the onondaga warpath and the muskets were old even around the time of discover say 1850s of course for years people have talked about buried treasure but i think alot of that was stirred up after the initial findings and there isnt really any information on the exact location

Thanks Vicki. i have read there have been instances of them doing that. The bullets was heavy in the bag and the weight of the musket would slow them down. Suppose the enemy was overwhelming them and they needed to retreat quick. All that weight would slow them down But i am with you on that. It would have to be an absolute last option. Take care, MIKE

@gr8finds19614 сағат бұрын
@@thebattlefieldwalker2841 thank you so much. Just hope I got all the bullets. I am sure they came from the soldiers cartridge box. They was all within a 5 foot area. I didn't even know at first what the musket was. I had my hand in the mud there about 6 inches and felt it and thought it was just a tree limb. And pulled on it to get it out of the way to see what else was there. Couldn't believe what was happening to be honest. Then found the box plate.
@thebattlefieldwalker28419 сағат бұрын
@@gr8finds196 Oh I'm SURE you found his cartridge box. Ought to be a finial and some rivets there too. Maybe more. I once found a belt buckle and cartridge box containing 17 .69 cal buck & Balls. No box plate though. Did find the remains of the tin insert. And I once found a breastplate with a half a sword scabbard in the same hole but nothing else. What state are you in?

@gr8finds1964 күн бұрын
