As a 27 year old, I can completely relate to feeling as though everything is simultaneously coming together and falling apart at the same time. But, ultimately it's up to us to choose whether to see the glass as half full or half empty. Thanks for sharing such relatable content x

here too! One day you wake up and everything is seeming to fall into place all by itself, and the next day you wake up and you see it all totally differently. Today is a bad day for me, the last few days in general have just been bad. But sometimes all it takes is to look at things from a slightly different angle and it's all okay again. This video was very calming for me :)

Same !!! I recently went through a break up and felt like my life was suddenly falling apart, but this break up was the push I needed to actually go see a therapist and get my anxiety under control, which also allowed me to enjoy my job again. And now even though life still feels messy I feel like it's coming together in a new and better way

I absolutely adore your vlogs and your honesty in them! Regarding how life changes when one persons health changes drastically: I've been there! My mum was in a pretty severe accident (suv vs mum on a bike, guess who was stronger ...). For quite a few months the amount of work I had to do was incredibly overwhelming (and also quite weird, being young and having to step up for your parent in such a way), BUT (and this is why I share this) it got better. It's been 8 years now, and she's back, not quite the same person as before, but she's certainly taking life on now. And your vlog kinda got me reflecting how I didn't really realise my responsibilities lessen over time, but they certainly did and now she's managing great and I go and visit her to go on bike rides together. Even if things change long-term, even if it's not going to be like before, it's going to be. The to-do list will eventually shorten. AND. I love the song.

As somebody who also has a leak that is taking ages to get fix, it felt so nice to hear you speak about that!! Everybody keeps telling me how they love the sound of the rain pattering off their roofs and windows and how calming it is for them, but for me it’s such a sources of anxiety at the moment. You can imagine it’s hard to deal with because I live in Scotland and there is always loads of rain😂

Lucy, thanks for sharing about how the effort you put in staying sober is paying off ❤ I'm five months sober and your content has been a source of great inspiration in my journey. I used alcohol to compensate for my lack of emotional regulation skills and tools and it's still a hard journey dealing with cravings, the mental load, and how to reset my idea of a social life and how to have fun. Thanks for the warming, beautiful, realistic content as always 😊

Thank you for being so honest in this vlog. It feels kind of awful to say it, but as a 20 year old student who just moved out from home to a different city, it is relieving to hear that you don't have a massive financial safety net to rely on. Your friend Leena recently talked about how many influencers promote a lifestyle that they couldn't necessarily afford without brand gifts and deals and knowing that you don't have a perfect london influencer life is just a good reality check. Wishing your dad good recovery, your roof leak to get fixed soon and hope you can find small things every day that help you to balance.

12:26 They have come a long way with spray on sealant. Over here in the states we have a product called FlexSeal spray. If you locate the hole in the roof, or you see a spot where the shingles have fallen off. Spray this stuff and would buy you some time. Tarps just blow off in the wind.

I reference 'We're Going On A Bear Hunt' all the time! I also used to bite my nails (most of my life) and I've found it's so much easier not to when your nails are already grown out and look nice. Even if I bite a hangnail off once in a blue moon, it doesn't erase all of the work I did to get here or the new coping strategies that are now in place. I've been enjoying finding my style with longer nails and that weighs out anything else. So getting past that first hurdle is the hardest - I guess that's in line as well with what you were saying about getting sober actually.

I wanted to put a second comment regards to content. Because wow. Thank you for putting something so raw and powerful out here. I'm 27 and I can completely relate to how you feel. I can't say "I know" how you feel - because I don't, and truly, it's not a great feeling when someone says that, I don't think, it feels invalidating, even when they say it with the best of intentions. Somedays, I feel like my life is growing and I'm exactly where I should be in life, or maybe even ahead of life. But other days, I feel so behind, behind my peers, or those of my age, like, I feel I should have bought a house by now - but everyone has different life trajectories and some are still living with parents, whilst I'm renting and saving. Or I feel like other things in life are happening - my grandad is gravely ill and has been diagnosed with vascular Parkinson's and is becoming a shell of the person who raised me from a baby. Then somedays decide to combine the two! I can have a great day but some news or minor event brings it all crashing down - or other days I can start off terrible and something brilliant can happen! I feel like the trajectory of our twenties is to challenge us - and in reality - we're trying to squeeze so much in terms of laying down life foundations, into just one decade of our lives. It's a lot - and I don't think we realise it is because it's what society expects, and we forget that generations before us didn't have as many of the fiscal climate challenges that we do. I kind of look forward to my thirties as being more stable and settled, but then I also worry that I'm wishing my life away. To summarise - your title describes the life of someones twenties perfectly.

Sorry to hear about your grandad's diagnosis, Rory. It's hard to navigate but you will get through it! Sending love x

Lucy! Just wanted to say that I've been an on and off viewer since 2015-ish? I've been absolutely loving the kind of content you've been putting out since 2022 (specially the last 2 years). I thoroughly enjoy your chattier, video-essay kind of vlogs. And I've been a big fan of the music snippets you've been including in the vids. Tbh I haven't been excited for somebody to release their music in the longest time! Absolutely no pressure though, we'll all be here whenever you feel like releasing it. Much love xx

I've also been feeling lately like the smallest thing will push me over the edge. For different reasons, most likely, than yours, but I've also found that it makes me find appreciation in the smallest things. The other day I was able to do some work outdoors with a nice little mocktail and it was really nice.

i’ve been sober since march (not by choice but because i started taking antidepressants), and maybe it’s because of them, but i feel really great without alcohol! almost all of my friends are sober as well and we feel like we’ve became a lot more fun at our social gatherings, we have a lot more to do and we actually feel good the next day. for right now, i don’t feel like coming back to drinking if i ever decide to come off the pills, i honestly feel like a new person right now.

Hey Lucy ! I'm an audio engineer and I think it's so cool that you're producing ! I just have one advice from what I see of your set up, your speakers should be higher so they are more in line with your ears ! (even better if you put them on a support that absorbs vibrations) Keep going you're doing amazing !

Firstly: Two Words: Tabletop Dishwasher! (Is that two? or three? I don't know) Hopefully you have the space for that - I couldn't be without my dishwasher now. Secondly - Thanks for the HelloFresh Link! My partner and I's life at the moment is manic and money is tight whilst saving for a house and wedding, so I've finally bit the bullet and signed back up!

Very unrelated to most of this video but on the nail thing I struggled with the same thing, it got too expensive and I was really trying to save money. Sadly I'm a nail biter so I need to have something that keeps me away from putting them in my mouth so I decided to try press-ons... let me tell you, I will never go back! It's so much cheaper and easier.

I'm 29 and my Mum just passed away after being chronically ill for many years. I just wanted to say that you have permission to find things hard, to feel annoyed with the disruptions to your daily life, and to still love your Dad with your whole heart. Don't pressure yourself to always feel the "right" way or present that to your audience. 🤎

I know you're still in your 20s but I feel like what you're describing is really what your 30s onward are like... in some ways things are so good and so stable but its more common for things to start falling apart... parents health declining, layoffs at work, stuff in your home falling apart and now its on YOU, etc.
