Now that you've finished her side quest, it's not hard to see why...

Not sure if anyone pointed this out but the reason why chat spoiled about the secret passage and to recheck the note about running away is because Sif was supposed to talk about his past. He did in my play though. Maybe at this stage of the game he just doesn’t care enough to bring it up and now you guys won’t get any of that juicy Sif lore
@discordiadingle320311 ай бұрын
I know, I was so surprised when Sif didn’t say anything.
@PikaPenny1711 ай бұрын
For reference, the lore is that Sif talks about how he ran away from home on a fishing boat. Mira then asks what happened after they went back, and Sif gets this distressed look on their face, and then time seemingly rewinds to before he started talking about his own running away from home experience.

@Ruminations099 ай бұрын
Yeah, every single item in that room (the note, the bookshelf, and the drawer) all have their dialogue change every single Act. What you learn in Act 2 is *specific* to Act 2. And similarly, what happens here in Act 3 is specific to Act 3. And a different set of scenes plays out in Act 4. It's for that reason that I was lowkey getting very frustrated that chat kept on straight up spoiling things to try to get them to see dialogue they literally can't even see at that moment - even after the dev herself explicitly says that they are fine to move on and aren't missing anything.

to me, it kinda seems like they learned vaugardian as a second/third/etc language _before_ the country was erased, and thus are forgetting words that they wouldnt typically use as an adult (stuffed animal) or wouldnt have learned in vaugardian as there was no reason (kiln, pottery wheel, anvil). and they cant try and translate from their native language for words that slip their mind that they learned in that language first (sharpening stone?), so theres no jumping-off point to go from. like, when im trying to think of a word in another language, if it doesnt come to me right away, i have to translate it from whatever language i learned it in first (usually my native language, but im pretty sure it can apply to other languages too!) anyways idk if this makes sense, just how i thought of sifs forgetting words stuff. definitely related to their country and language being wiped from their memory, but i also just like to think its connected to them forgetting words specifically due to it being their second language!

I do agree this Ace representation in this game is pretty good. Edit: like I have queer relatives and classmates so I was aware of LGBTQIA+ so I was already open to LGBTQIA+ I just did not know what any of this meant until adulthood since sex education over here is horrible and does a piss job at explaining sexuality and genders and straight up do not even mention people can be asexual

the ace conversation and the conversation soon after about feeling like you're a bad person for being sexual... MAN as a lesbian (not ace, unfortunately), I really, really feel that guilt about that feeling, especially since I know a lot of people that are ace and I never *never* want to make them uncomfortable by even implying the topic itself in conversation, even as a joke it's also a weird thing where in a lot of art it's talked about like it's a bad thing? not a discouragement of it, but like the feeling itself is some primal animalistic urge, like it's dirty - it's also less seen as 'normal' for women/afab people, for some reason I also wondered if I was ace for a time, because I just didn't feel that way for a bit, or it was in a dulled, less frequent way than what's considered the norm - and a part of my brain hates that fact although it really doesn't come up for me often, or affect my day to day life, I just have a lot of feelings about it, I figured I wasn't the only person logically, but it's still comforting to hear someone talk about their experiences with that struggle

I wanted to settle down in a nice spot with some animals as my family and that was it, reading, having fun, etc. Although, I think I was very lucky in my childhood considering that my parents supported me 100% from the very first time I said that I didn't want to have a partner and get married or anything. My mom brought up having a partner in middle school, and I just responded with a flat "Nah, I don't want a partner. I'm gunna live by myself and have cats and it's fine." and she was like "Okay cool, how's your reading going?" She was just super chill with it. I hope more people's parents are like that in the future, just supporting their kids with what they decide. Parents should be more like that.

This game is phenomenal, the story goes from devastating back to warm hug and I'm here for it. I love these characters so much, and I love how you guys bring them to life. They must all be protected at all costs... and also be made into merch that I can buy and have when this is over.

9:50 No! The most popular 'tilting the frame' is the pootis engage intro, you bean. (Not really but that animation is infamous for always playing with the screen... Also its about red and blue heavy looking for a certain magazine... While being one of the most awesome animations online)

When I first got to all of the hangouts, my first thought was “GOD I can’t wait to see Jello get up to this part” and oh my god you did not disappoint. Everyone did a STELLAR job, especially Lenti and Will; I was in tears because of you two. Please don’t sell yourself short on your acting skills Will, because I was looking forward to your performance the most. These streams have been an absolute highlight for me and this stream especially was amazing. Thank you all for an amazing stream; this has been one of my favorite games that you’ve played ❤

I just stumbled onto this after a recommendation for jello drinking lemonade and it took me until part 4 here to realize that these are voice actors I know. Took a moment to start looking people up and I felt a bit dumb...and Marissa Lenti as Moze really *made* borderlands 3 for me.

Apparently Jello and I have literally the exact same opinion about pansexuality and bisexuality. I just really hate super saturated bright colors dude.

To the convo about the amount of lgbtqia+ labels being overwhelming or tiring, I’m so glad to hear others getting how I feel. For years, I was nervous about voicing my distain for feeling like I had to choose a specific label for the numerous facets of my identity because I felt like nothing really fit me. I am ace, and that label really helped me, things like gender, it can be a lot more difficult to come up with a certain term to describe all that encapsulates you in your experiences and who you are, and how you identify. So I just go with “queer”, because it’s vague enough that it encapsulates my identity but it’s not so specific that it feels like it’s trapping me in a box of a label that I might not quite vibe with
@SkaJoodleSkaDoodle4 ай бұрын
My relationship with labels was always love-hate though, because it has done so much for our community, and also, y’all were mentioning how the specific sub identities of asexuality were really helpful, and they really fucking are. It was also very comforting to know that even if I did experience sexuality at some degree that I was still part of that community and that it wouldn’t shun me

I know this is old but I just saw a post where someone was asking about indie games that would be improved with AAA budget and their suggestion was "Slay the Spire with 3d Graphics" and I'm pretty sure most of the comments were basically "no"

2:24:00 Oh my goodness! I am so glad to know it isn't just me who does that! I'm a tall lady at 6'3½", and I have to actively think about being noisy so I don't "sneak up" on people accidentally (in reality, I'm just walking normally and somehow they don't notice that and think I'm being intentionally stealthy). It got bad enough in high school that I started wearing my keys on a carabiner on my hip just to have them jingle as I walk so that people know I'm there audibly! A classmate asked me why and I decided for whatever reason to call it my "cowbell" so they heard me coming, "and you can never have enough cowbell, right?"🐍 Thank you for making my weirdness feel appropriate and dare I say normal, Jello!

The changes in the dialogues as you play this game - the way family sidequests morph over the story all of which leads somewhere. I am so excited to know this game exists. It is one of my favourite games ever now (even with slight caveats) - (but most of them are my fault like me being insane enough to uh grind to get OP achievement in act 3 :3).

Honestly this game should have a map that Siffrin makes as things progress and you find items. Like it could say where key items and the keyknife are when you've already found them and like names for the rooms. I'm in late game and I've used an online map. It's kind of ridiculous to expect players to remember where everything is and it gets especially frustrating later in the game.
@Jachra27 күн бұрын
Oh that's a shame. Maybe the Siffrin run away scene only happens in a previous Act? I got that BEFORE I defeated the king. It's really tragic.

So my school is doing a play called "Almost Maine" and... This game actually reminds me of it with the emotional scenes. My character is going through struggling with feelings and denial, and it reminds me a lot of Mirabel's specific scene. Mirabel has lived her whole life wanting to go by the rules of Change and living in this society where you're accepted only if you follow these rules and concepts and change yourself, and it heavily reflects many religions and the stories of many queer people from non-queer-friendly religions (especially aro ace stories obviously). I play a character called Randy, who's going through his best friend suddenly having feelings for him, and realizing that he may have feelings for his best friend too. But their whole lives they've been straight men, and while his best friend (Chad) seems to be more accepting of this revelation as Chad admits his feelings as something that "just happened" (he LITERALLY fell over when he falls for Randy), and Randy is very scared of this revelation. He doesn't like this weird new discovery, and he doesn't like change. Mirabel and Randy are both afraid of deviating from the norm to express who they truly are. This video has actually helped me with my acting, as it's given me a different perspective on how to act out Randy's scene. While Randy is supposed to be angry, I can't help but feel the need to add sadder and more desperate subtext to the scene, similar to the desperation in Mirabel's voice when she's talking about belonging in her religion and finding a partner so she can be perfect. I want to add that same desperation, that same sadness, that same overwhelming desire to fit in and be right, especially growing up as a queer person with a religious family. Jello is inspiring me to put more of myself into this character, to add my background and my life into acting as Randy. Jello also helped me realize that my "female character" voice will sound like a woman if the character I'm playing is a woman. I was double cast as not only Randy, but a woman named Marvalyn. I was assigned male at birth, and have a baritone-bass voice. I've been working on vocal feminization strategies for this role, but I've been really scared about not sounding enough like a woman and breaking the immersion. I now realize: if you act like the character, your voice becomes that character's voice. Listening to Jello voice Mirabel is amazing, because you get so immersed in the story telling and the voice acting that you can't even pick up on the subtle bits and pieces where Jello's voice lowers slightly past Mirabel's "vocal pitch", because you aren't honed in on the character's voice. When you really focus on it, and you've heard Jello speak before, you can go "oh yeah you can kinda see that Jello doesn't have Mirabel's exact voice" but if you aren't super focused on it, you could never tell. I'm not scared of acting out this role anymore, I know people are going to put my face and voice into this role. 99% of the audience hasn't ever heard me speak before, and 99.99% have never even heard of this show. They don't have a voice to associate with me or my character, so my voice will BECOME that character's voice. (Also holy crab the voice acting in this stream is INCREDIBLE. The emotion. The inflection. The subtext. It's just- these people really UNDERSTAND the characters they're voicing. They feel these feelings. I've seen Bonnie's scene three times now, and even though I know everything that happens my eyes water each time I hear the voices for it. It's so well done, this is perhaps one of the best playthroughs of a game I've ever seen, and what a game to be playing through.)

This had to be up there as one of the best streams I got to catch. The voice acting y'all do elevated the Helping scenes so much, especially Marissa's amazing talent, along with just... lots of good queer talk vibes. This is up there with pretty much all of Skies of Arcadia, as well as the last Path of Radiance stream, in terms of overall fun and enjoyable streams for me. Thanks for all the fantastic work y'all do :D

The ace convo made me feel REALLY seen. I'm aroace in the since that i just have a hard time feeling romantic attraction and i also have a really complicated relationship with sexual experiences to the point that when i didn't want to have it like people i know did i felt bad. I felt like it was wrong of me to not want it. WHICH IS NOT TRUE it also took me hearing other people's experiences to know that it is normal to sometimes want it, and just strayup refuse it. Seeing ace and aroace rep in a game makes me really happy and seen

I don't know if this gets revealed later in the vod (I'm only half an hour in) but I have a theory related to the missing island, I think it's a similar situation to the equipment you take. Whenever you encounter a spot where you originally got a piece of equipment the characters experience similar effects to whenever they think about the island
