For some, the repetition of In Stars And Time might not resonate in the same way as it did for me, and I completely understand that. I feel as if the latter half of the game will lose some people, but regardless, I say it is worth having some patience for this one. From the charming characters, the excellent execution of the time-looping story, and the lovingly crafted visuals, In Stars And Time is a unique experience I never want to forget, and I do believe it to be an indie masterpiece.

@@user-td4tv1gx4h it makes me feel the wrong type of bad, the story making you feel bad is ok but the devloper purposefully making the gameplay design itself terrible (as in annoying and badly designed) on purpose is the one thing no game designer should never do.

@@akiradkcn its not badly designed its supposed to make you fell annoyed about having to fight the same enemies for example but even that is well designed cuz later in the game you dont need to fight regular enemies if you dont want to you can pretty much loop forward and go straigh to what you need and you get an item that makes avoiding enemies way easier

Both the charm, and coolness this game's artstyle exucbuerates is beautiful to me. I also love groundhog day themed games/books, as well as puzzles, due to the mystery genre lover in me, so it's nice to see something that looks like this, paired with that. In terms of writing, I know exactly what you mean by fatigue adding to experience, as the Zeroth Maria, one of my favorite light novel series ever, is like that. You spend 1000s of days with in a repeated, frustrating dilemma, then suddenly the slightest change, such as a pencil never appearing on its desk again, becomes something huge. It is through repetition, that this impact is birthed and immensely amplified through games specifically written in this way. It's not for everyone, but if you're someone who gets it, you love it. Thanks for the eye! A lovely, informative review this was. I like that you guys appreciate themes like this. This is why NP is my go-to for indie news and I'm happy for your success! Keep it up!

I’m only a few hours in but I do feel like this is a game where you really have to have extreme patience going through some of the same things so many time. At least for me in the beginning stages so far. love the art style music, characters and vibe but I did find myself switching to another game and then go back and then got felt a lot of redundancies again. I’m hoping I can finish this game but for buyers out there make sure this is something you want to play before you do because I’m a very patient person and this along with the long rambling but charming at times dialogue can just drag on. This is coming from someone who loved eastward and all of its dialogue or visual novel games and I still found this games pacing a challenge for myself in the worry that all my time spent will be a waste.

Saw other reviews praising the Devs for trying something new but not all the systems seem to gel. Top notch reviews keep coming, but I feel that they're giving too much away now. Though, balancing "giving information that will direct people towards the media they're into" and "obscuring as much as possible to keep the experience fresh and surprising" is an incredibly hard task.

It's the score I would give it too. Masterpiece is definitely how I would describe this and not only have I been excited to get back to the game whenever I need to move away but I am genuinely smiling the whole time I'm playing it.

@@HitoriTeaTime No. There's been a big tonal shift in storytelling in the past few years and I can't help but think it's hormonal, like an actual physiological change in people which prevents them from maturing. They are twenty, thirty years old, balding, with breasts, tentative speech patterns relying on "like" every other word. And their entertainment isn't about seeing something badass, it's about seeing cute and "quirky" characters interacting. This would have been embarrassing just a couple of decades ago.
