Thanks for the tip about the moon. I never knew that. You should attach the reel to a rod when winding the line back on. It makes it so much easier and you can keep some tension on the line while winding.
@DietrichBohnhorst Жыл бұрын
Will try that next time, sir. All the best and cheers.

I think you are right Dietrich about the sun and moon showing themselves at the same time I never caught anything when that happened. Looking forward to seeing you fish with your new fly rod , I have one as well a Redington made in the UK haven't tried it yet it's a 5/6 weight 9 foot so I can use larger flies as I tend to favor them the smallest I fish is size 14 . If I can't see them very well then I don't tie them or fish them just old age , taken care my friend.
@DietrichBohnhorst Жыл бұрын
Thank you, Jim. It is surely amazing how one could tie flies without glasses once and today it is difficult making the smaller ones without magnification. Take care and all the best.

Hi Dietrich. Happy new yesr and tight lines in 2024. As I recollect that Hardy Fibatube rod is fibreglass - you are a real traditionalist Dietrich I wish you success with that. Best Phil
@DietrichBohnhorst Жыл бұрын
Thank you, Phil, and a happy new year to you too. It is a fibreglass rod and I can't wait for the first of March to go fishing with it. Take care and a good 2024 season, cheers.
@gordondavies7773 Жыл бұрын
We used to use Fibatube blanks to make bespoke rods. I have a 6 foot small stream rod with the but ring on the top section, with a second shorter handle. I coukd change over when fishing really overgrown sections.
