They also dont gain big bucks from making what is essentially wasteful videos like spending several 100Ks on fireworks or squidgame simulations. Not really. It goes both ways as the new kids need the approval and support (read: money, power, connections, and influence) of the old, established institutions. Nothing beats the old money. Those people are multibillionaires, while KZbinrs are millionaires at best. This is why all the big KZbinrs jump on every opportunity they get to partner up with the old folks, i.e. Amazon, different magazines, talk shows etc.

@@firelordplayz amazon is not a part of the old folks. also, jimmy is a massive exception from the "big youtubers". this isn't about money, it's about viewer base. he brings in a unique set of viewers that these old/established institutions rarely see interest from, so he's doing them as much of a favor as they're doing him, if not more. so yes, it is old media sucking up to new media.

People with careers and money, in other words. Amazon's shoppers are mostly born before the 1990s while Jimmy's viewers are mostly born in the 2000s and 2010s, so young folks who mostly have no careers and no money. So no, it is Jimmy sucking up to the old media and old money.

You can see them vanish from your own personal account if you recall which ones you liked and subsribed. Next, other people keep liking and subscribing so the initial likes on the first day or two remains the same, unless @time can tell the people to keep #resubcribing and #reliking, of course. He asked people to relike all the past videos because this happened throughout last year. On Xmas Day he is donating again to a Women's charity (YWCA) and he reveals in the video that his videos get hidden the moment they are uploaded and you cannot see his newest video for a few hours, and if the video seems to go viral, KZbin will try to hide it from existence for a whole week, but videos are about him basically giving to the needy and directly to people in need, so he politely requests KZbin to stop hiding his videos on Xmas day and New Years eve. hope this helps the #timemagazine readers
