In the Bible, What Does God Mean When He Says He is a Jealous God?

It means nothing comes before him. That’s all. Nothing. Not you, your kids, spouse, money, literally nothing because without him , none of this would exist. So always acknowledge him in all things putting nothing before him. It’s like your child thanking the neighbor when you’re the one who raised them

God is the only one who has a right to our worship because he created us and we belong to Him, so I understand. It's not the same as coveting something that belongs to someone else because we only belong to him.

How do you know these things? Because your parents told you. What about what other parents told other children? Believing is a choice, not a fact. If believing in fairy tales makes you feel better then you are lucky. I can't just believe in things because it was written by men a few thousand years ago. I never understood how anyone could. I have a few questions. Why did god not communicate with us before and after the time of Christ? Since god is omnipotent and can make anything happen instantly, why did he have to send his son to suffer a horrible death in order for our sins to be forgiven? What does being crucified have to do with forgiveness? Why not just forgive us? What's with all the theatrics. Seriously. Think about how little sense that makes. If Christ is basically god then he can't suffer. Omnipotent beings can't suffer. How do people believe that stuff?

In Hebrew, god could be translated as « elohim ». There is many elohim (demons, things that you may make as idols like money..) but there is only ONE Elohim. The rest is false. Elohim with a capital E

"JUST THAT" plain and simple, and nothing else needs to be said or added to that, this is one of the biggest, and common, and often mistakes man makes...when it comes to the word of God, trying to make it out to mean something other than what is spoken, when the word of God give a direct statement.. such as this, or interprets something in the word.. that's that, man needs to leave it alone 🕊️

Start by proving that god exists, created the universe, wants us to worship him and in whatever way that you think appropriate, and is good. You can not prove anything so why go into this jealousy thing? Why can't we just go on not knowing if god exists or not and just being good to each other. All this discussion has no value except to separate humanity into religious groups who hate each other. Let's just start a new religion called "Be good" and follow the only rule and we will be on our way to peace.

A lot don't seem to understand this and just go off on a rant about God being this egotistical maniac, one they have never even tried to open their mind to watch videos like this and two, to be honest with you even if he was "craving attention" which he's not then I would still worship him since he gave us the greatest gift which is life. The only reason you are in existence and doubt him is because of him, god wiped out cities in the old testament but your faith in him no matter the ods is what matters since he gave us everything and has every right to take it away. People go to hell because they choose rebellion by practicing evil. God (Jesus) came to rescue people from the kingdom of darkness and bring them safely into the kingdom of God. God wants us to do good (his standard of goodness) to others because it is love. And God wants us to correct those who do evil, because doing evil to others is not love. God punishes evil. God rewards good. There is always a consequence for the good people do and the evil people do. Good consequences from God for doing good. Bad consequences from God for doing evil. God is the ultimate Supreme Judge. A judge (if a good judge) will punish evil.

God isn’t going to force someone into heaven. If someone chooses to reject God and not want to be with Him then He sends them to hell so they can be away from Him, since that person wanted nothing to do with God. Hell is basically just living in your sin for eternity. People choose to live in sin on earth so He lets them live in it for eternity since that is what they chose. The good news is is that He’s made a way of escape and that’s accepting Him, wanting the life and purpose He’s planned for you on this earth, trusting in Him and giving Him all the praise and glory. His love is unconditional. He hands out His mercy, grace and forgiveness to all who accept it.

It’s stupid really. You are born and have so called “free choice”. You accept the lord and follow his lead, then you go to “heaven”, but if you choose to actually just live a life of your choice, then you go to hell for being “disobedient”.
